Petite Fashion Challenge # 7: Dressing up your LBD

This month, the Petite Fashion Challenge # 7 is hosted by Jessy of TheLittleDustPrincess. This challenge is to "add a pop of colour (or two) to your little black dress to change up the look. You could add anything from an accessory to a blazer, or even nail polish!"

This is by far the most challenge that I have been participating. I own many black dresses but when it comes to dressing up one, I am clueless. I picked up this little black dress last month at Macy’s thinking it would be a versatile piece to have. Two things about this dress that caught my attention: pleats and lace. Although black isn’t my first choice of color when it comes to clothing but I see potential for a lot of variations. I’ve put together 3 outfits and I hope you’ll like them. Don't forget to vist The Little Dust Princess for other fabulous ideas. A big thank to Jessy for hosting this challenge!

Outfit # 1: This outfit would be cute for date night or dinner out. As you can tell, I am wearing the exact same belt (buy similar here) and shoes (buy similar here) from my previous post. I know I am boring and/or running out of ideas :)  However, I do like the black/red combination. This dress has a very sexy deep-V back which I love.

Online Boutique: GoJane.com

A hot fashion trend that I have been seeing everywhere this Spring is nude/blush/peach colored clothing and accessories. When GoJane.com asked me to pick out an item for the review, of course this flirty dress in peach caught my attention right away. This Asymmetrical Accordian Pleated dress is full of features that I’ve been loving lately – the ruffles give softness and femininity, the pleats are so much fun and the color is just a perfect shade of peach.

Closet Remix: 04.21.2011

Today, I am so excited to share with you guys some of my new purchases. If you follow me on Twitter, you'd know my husband and I went shopping for 9 hours past weekend. The outlet is 2 hours away from where I live so it took 4 hours just to drive back and forth. So technically, we only shopped for 5 hours :) LOL. It was a successful shopping trip. We came home with a bunch of stuff. Two of which that I am wearing in this post is the new lovely blouse from Ann Taylor Factory and my new nude pumps from Steve Madden.

A quick trip to H&M

As you already know, the H&M Conscious collection has hit stores last week. I was so excited to find out that my local store does carry this collection. Everything looks so beautiful and breezy in the lookbook. I was in love with most of the items. I couldn’t help but stop by my local store on the day the collection first launched. I am not sure about your local stores but mine only carries half of the items from this collection. In order to make the display look fuller, they mixed the items from this collection with some other spring items. I quickly tried on a few things but ended up not getting anything from this collection. I love the idea but this collection is rather disappointing. However, I was able to use the 20% discount on this dress.

Closet remix: Spring lookbook

Spring is finally here!!! The weather is getting warmer and I couldn’t be happier. What I love to wear are vibrant colors to jump start the Spring season. I am definitely looking forward to putting away my winter clothes and wearing some bright and colorful pieces. I am so excited to put this outfit together. This outfit was featured in "How bloggers wear LOFT - Spring". I bought this flirty fuchsia top last Fall but only had a chance to wear it once. It is a perfect match when paired with this Abstract Floral Print Pencil Skirt. It’s refreshing and absolutely adorable.

Review: LOFT Seamed Ponte Sheath Dress in 00P

The black sheath dress is a fashion staple for most women. I can never have enough of them. The sheath dress is so easy to find and easy to style. I spotted this little black sheath dress at LOFT last week and wanted to give it a try. Black isn’t my first choice of color when it comes to clothing. However, the empire waist dress is a great choice for those who are petite and want to look taller.

Closet remix: 04.06.2011

I am so ready for Spring. The weather is still a little chilly in Ohio but it is getting warmer every day. I’ve bought a few pieces for Spring and can’t wait to wear them. While browsing J.Crew store at the mall last month (I am not sure why I do that since they do not carry petite sizes in store), I spotted the J.Crew cotton bell skirt in a 00. I am pretty sure this was a return. I brought it home with me “just to try”.

I’ve seen the wool version of this skirt on many petites and the cotton version on Vicky of Vicky’s Daily Fashion. I have mix feelings about this skirt. I like the fact that it is different than a typical pencil skirt. Also, I am still on the hunt for a casual skirt after my failed attempt at Gap. I also like the way it fits on me. The elastic waist helps a lot. The length is also great for me. A 00P would have been too short on me. Continue reading..
