Little White Summer Dress

When Apart Style asked me to pick out several items for the IT girl feature, I was immediately drawn to this dress. It is a classic sheath style with pretty eyelet detail. I’ve always loved wearing white in the summer. This dress is also perfect for work when paired with a blazer/cardigan. It is 100% lined and very well-made. Unfortunately, the smallest size was still too big for my frame. This dress has gone through a major alteration. I knew my alterations would be expensive because of how complicated the dress was, but I still shocked when I saw the bill. However, I love the fit post alterations. Personally, I think it’s worth it for something timeless that can be worn year after year. I feel more confident when wearing clothes that fit properly.

Fall Wish-list Item # 2: Colored Denim

Another item on my Fall wishlist is a pair of bold colored jeans. Since colored jeans are often bold and bright, it is really important to tone it down on top with neutral colors.

Additional 50% off sale items at GAP and LOFT (in stores only)

I had a bit of time to kill before picking up my little girl from school yesterday so I went shopping. I am glad I did because I found an amazing deal at Gap. I don't shop at Gap very often since they do not carry petite sizes in stores. However, once in a while, I found items at rock-bottom prices that I am absolutely love (remember this post and this post?).

Another item on my fall wishlist is a rust colored blazer after seeing one on Kelly. I saw this Gap point-lapel blazer when I first walked in the store but didn’t bother to look. I thought for sure it is still full price because of its color. After browsing through the sale section and couldn’t find anything, I came back and looked at the price tag out of curiosity. I couldn’t believe my eyes that the blazer got marked down to $19.99 (was $98.00). Yesterday, Gap offered additional 40% off sale items in stores. I also had a $10.00 reward card. Yes, I paid a grand total of $2.00 for this beautiful blazer.

Fall Wish-list Item # 1: A Pleated Skirt

Fall officially begins tomorrow and I couldn’t be happier! I've already started writing down my Fall must-haves list. I’ll share with you ladies once it’s completed. My goal is to purchase only items from this list =) The first item on my Fall wish-list is a pleated skirt. I've seen many lovely bloggers rocking pleated skirts lately and been on the hunt for one. I found this skirt at Forever 21 last month and absolutely adore. This skirt fits me perfectly in every way. Nothing screams Fall like leopard print, right?

I am an “IT” girl!

You might remember this post I did a while back for ApartStyle.com. I was so excited and very honored when they asked me to become one of their IT girls. The feature finally went live! You can see me on ApartStyle.com or read the full interview here (this feature may not be viewable on mobile devices). Although, I couldn’t make it to New York for a photo shoot with their photographer, my husband and I had a blast shooting these photos at a nearby park =)

A big thank to ApartStyle.com for giving me the opportunity to become one of their IT girls. I really enjoyed the experience. I will be posting more pictures of each outfit in the upcoming posts.

Help me decide: Ann Taylor Halter Trench Dress

I ordered this Ann Taylor Halter Trench dress a few weeks ago when they offered free shipping on any purchase. However, I can’t decide whether I should keep it or not. The dress fits me much better than expected for a 00R. The halter straps are a bit long and need to be shortened. I did pull both straps up and tied them with a hair tie in these photos. Other than that, it fits me well all around. The length is also perfect for someone my height.

My only concern is that where would I wear this dress to? Obviously, I can’t wear it to work because of the naked back. It looks OK paring with a cardigan. However, IMO, this dress was meant to be worn by itself. I also ordered this double-weave utility skirt (in 00R as well). I didn't even bother to take any photos because the fit was way off for me. FYI, additional 40% off everything ends today (in-store and online).

I need your opinions, ladies. For $60.00, should I keep it as a special occasion dress? Should I return it because I won’t get much wear out of it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your input and enjoy the rest of your weekend =)

What I am wearing:
Dress: AT Halter Trench dress - 00R (buy here - additional 40% off)
Shoes: BR Jacky Platform Pump (buy similar here or here)
Cardigan: Gap - XS (buy similar here or here)
Watch: Michael Kors 5128 in rose gold (buy here or here)

Missoni for Target vs. Forever 21

The Missoni for Target line has hit stores and online 2 days ago. It certainly has created a shopping frenzy. Target site was down for more than 8 hours. I don't really understand all the hype. It got me curious that I had to stop by my local Target to check it out. I have no intentions whatsoever to purchase any of the items from this collection. The zigzag pattern makes me dizzy and it is totally not my style. I was thinking about picking up a cardigan and a pair of ballet flats for my little girl. At the end, I decided not to because the quality is just nothing more than typical Target clothes. Blouses are made from 100% polyester and sweaters are super thin. The ballet flats that I was eyeing for my little one have no support at all.

Review: Zara Double-breasted coat in XS

Several readers expressed their interest in seeing the Zara mustard coat that I’ve ordered last week. Let me first start off by saying that I really am impressed with their fast shipping. I placed an order on Wednesday and got it 3 days later on Saturday. The package came tightly wrapped in plastic.

Onto the review, this coat is from the Zara Woman line. According to their size chart, the Zara Women line tends to run larger than the TRF line. I haven’t purchased anything from Zara previously so I was hesitate to order this coat. Ping has left me a comment saying this particular coat runs small. I immediately placed an order as soon as I saw her comment.

My birthday has never been a big deal to me. I am at a point in my life where a birthday is just a reminder that I'm getting older..LOL. A special thank to my husband who never fails to make me feel so special. Here is the recap of my birthday in photos =)

Zara Launched Online Shopping Today!

Today is a very special day! Zara launched their online store and it is also my birthday LOL =) What a coincident, right? It's a sign that I must give myself a treat on my birthday. You now can order clothing from Zara.com. The best part is that they offer free standard delivery and free returns anywhere in the 50 states. Orders can also be picked up in store. I was so excited for this because there are no Zara stores anywhere near where I live. They do not carry petite sizes but their clothing does run smaller in general. Below are a few items that I am eyeing. Readers, will you be shopping today at Zara.com and which item(s) would you recommend for petite ladies?

Double-breasted coat (available in XS - L, $169.90)

J.Crew Inspired Outfit

I always love seeing what new things J. Crew has come up with. However, I don’t typically save outfit images off the internet or catalogs for inspiration. It’s easier for me to find inspiration through bloggers. While flipping through the August catalog last week, one of the outfits in there caught my attention. J.Crew really knows how to take color. I honestly would never think to pair mustard & neon yellow together but somehow the combination totally works. I decided to use my favorite top at the moment and recreate this look. My outfit is a little bit more muted than the one in the catalog. I like it this way. It’s much more practical for my every day wear. What do you think about this outfit? Does the color combination work?

Labor Day Weekend Sales!

As holiday weekend approaches, my mailbox is starting to fill up with sale alerts. It's a great time to stock up on Summer clothing or even Fall clothing at great discounts. I’d like to share some deals from my favorite retailers.

LOFT: There are several promotions going on at LOFT. (1) The $35 and under event: The top that I wore in this post is now $25.00. I really love the fit. The color is so gorgeous for Fall. This top can easily be dressed down with a pair of shorts/denim or a pencil skirt for work. I also love this Twist Neck Shell in moss green. (2) You can also take additional 40% off sale items and (3) receive a $25.00 savings card for every $50.00 you spend.
