Review: American Eagle White Denim Midi Short

A pair of white denim shorts was on my wishlist this summer. I tested out a few pairs and ended up keeping these American Eagle midi shorts because they are spectacular in all aspects. I think it is so hard to find shorts that come up high enough on the waist and are longer on the leg without being the Bermuda length which I am not a fan of. I tried on both the size 00 and 0 to find the best fit and decided on the size 00.

Double Rewards for Gap Members & Personalized Necklace

Hello everyone!

First up, I wanted to share a super sweet promotion from GAP. From 7/18-7/24, if you have a GAP card and rewards to use, they will double your rewards (valid in store only). So a $10 is worth $20, a $20 is worth $40. If you have unused rewards laying around, this is the time to spend those rewards. At first, I thought I was just getting double points but they doubled my reward! On top of that, GAP is having an extra 40% off sale styles as well. I didn't get anything for myself but got a bunch of stuff for the kids. I did try on this dress and this dress but passed on both. My total for everything was a mere $25 (regular retail being over $150).

Speaking of the kids, I am wholeheartedly in love with my new necklace. Thanks, Onecklace for sending over this gorgeous personalized necklace. I chose to have mine with my first initial and my two girls'. Aside from being pretty, the necklace is very sturdy and nicely made. Chains are available in 14", 16" and 18". I decided to go with a 16" chain and it sits nicely below my collarbone.

What I am wearing:
Dress: GAP Luxe Cami Maxi Dress - size XS regular
Clutch: Kate Spade Hampton Road cross-body (buy this year's version)

Updated Fitness Routine

It's been awhile since I talked about my fitness routine so today, I wanted to share with you guys a couple of things. A few months after Madelyn is born, I started squeezing a 30-minute workout during my lunch break. It wasn't easy but that was the only way I can get my workout done. I kept up with it for 3 months before calling it quits for a couple of reasons.

Reason # 1: When temp rises outside, it takes me a good hour to cool down after my workout. Being hot and sweaty at work is not exact what I want to deal with everyday.
Reason # 2: As suggested, you should wait 1-2 hours after eating to exercise. I usually have lunch around 11:30 and start my running at noon. 30 minutes does not give my stomach enough time for digestion. Because of that, I often got cramps.

To resolve both issues, I started running early in the morning. I get up at 5:30 AM and start running with a friend of mine. Having a running partner makes working out more enjoyable. The early morning run is so peaceful. There are many benefits to getting your run in early. For me, the biggest thing is the feeling that I've accomplished something first thing in the morning before most people are awake. I am usually done with my workout by 6:45 AM. By doing so, I don't have to worry about fitting a run into my day. I also find running on an empty stomach to be the most comfortable. Exercising on an empty stomach also forces the body to tap into its reserves. Hence, providing a more efficient workout.

{My run this morning}

I use Nike Running app to keep track of my runs and am loving it. My goal is to run 4 days during the week (approximately 4 miles a day) and do other cardio workouts on the weekend. Of course, eating healthy and exercising go hand-in-hand. I have recently adopted a few healthy eating habits as well and will share with you guys in a later post.

Ways to wear floral jeans

Floral pants are one of the trends that I have embraced fully this season but didn't have the guts to try until recently. I needed something that is not too loud, too bright, a little muted with just the right amount of floral. Since floral pants/jeans are a statement piece, I like to keep the rest of the look simple. Below are a few ways to wear floral pants. For a classic look, paired them with a plain white tee. This is my favorite way of toning down a statement piece. For an everyday casual look, rolled them up and swapped your high heels for a pair of flat sandals. If the pants are a muted print like the ones I am wearing here, you can pair them with a bright top for good measure. For those who are interested, measurements of a size 0 are approximately: 32" inseam and 13" waist. Floral jeans are super fun to wear and they're not as scary as I thought they would be =) What do you think about the floral pant trend and how do you wear them?

Vacay Memories

{The view from our room}

Hello everyone!

We just returned from our vacation in the Gulf! It was a perfect, flawless vacation filled with relaxation and family fun. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater two years in a row and it definitely wasn't disappointed. We enjoyed the quick walk to the beach, the view of the ocean from the balcony and the service. Below are some of my favorite photos from our getaway. I hope you enjoy them!

{It's kinda funny that the room we stayed at is actually bigger than the apartment back home}

{I enjoyed waking up to this peaceful beach view every morning}

Hello from Clearwater!

My family and I are soaking up the sun in Clearwater, FL. This was the youngest one's very first trip and she did wonderful. For the past few days, we did nothing but going to the beach, cooling down by the pool, taking naps in between and repeat =) I'll post more pictures from the trip in a later post. Today, I wanted to share a quick review on this lovely suit. A few weeks ago, Leonisa reached out to me and asked if I was interested in trying their products. Since I was on the hunt for a new one-piece swimsuit for my vacation, I decided to give this one a try.

Fourth of July Outlet shopping

The holiday weekend is over and now, back to reality (a.k.a work). I couldn't find time to post these fitting room pics over the weekend but hope you guys still find this post helpful. My husband and I spent our Independence Day at the outlet mall. We were out for 6 hours and below is what we came home with =) Let’s start off with my favorite find of the day at Kate Spade.

Review: GAP Printed cami maxi dress in XS Regular

If there is one perfect piece to wear today, this dress would be it. From the patriotic print to the super comfy material, I am in love! I've been on the hunt for some casual maxi dresses and ended up getting two from GAP last week. Today only, you can take 25% off your purchase with code "GAPHAPPY". I can't believe it's been a year since my last clothing review. I don't buy much clothing these days. I only buy things that I truly love/need and not just for the sake of buying them but if I see something that worth mentioning, I will certainly review them on the blog.

What I am wearing:
Dress: GAP Printed cami maxi dress - size XS regular
Jacket: H&M (almost identical and available in petite sizes)

Dark Denim and White Tee

Being a style blogger, I enjoy seeing the latest trends. Although, sometimes the most basic, simple, and comfortable outfits end up being my favorites. I've been looking for a simple, plain white tee for the longest time. You would think finding a plain white tee is easy, right? I tried on countless tees and none of them was right. Out of the blue, I stumbled upon this tee at Forever 21. I used to grab everything in the smallest size possible out of habit. This time, a friend of mine suggested to size up to get that "slouchy boyfriend" look. I tried on a large and voila! it's perfect. It's not a new concept but for some reason, it never really clicked in my mind. I really really love this tee. It's so soft and drapes perfectly. It's also super affordable so I ended up grabbing one in every color =) I hope you have a great day. I am getting ready to hit the zoo with the little one.

What I am wearing:
Denim: J Brand 910 leggings in starless - size 25 (I absolutely love them!)
