Fall 2015 Lookbook with WHBM (Look # 2)

As mentioned here, today I am showing you another look that I put together for White House Black Market. While the first ensemble is appropriate for a corporate environment, the second one is definitely my go-to weekend outfit. The iconic bucket bag that was popular in the 70s remains of the hottest trends this Fall. While browsing the site, this bag caught my attention for several reasons. It's on trend, chic yet classic at the same time. Fall is the time for warm, rich colors and the color tan couldn't have been anymore perfect. It will warm up any given outfit. I love minimalist handbag designs without all the bells and whistles and this bag is wonderful. The shoulder strap is adjustable which is a plus for a shorty like myself. I will share my thoughts on these flared jeans next week. I then finish off the outfit with a wool hat which is a Fall must have. Hope you enjoy the outfit and stay tuned for one more look on Friday.

Fall 2015 Lookbook with WHBM (Look # 1)

I have had the privilege of working with White House Black Market for the past 2 years (2014, 2013). I am thrilled to partner with them again to share a few pieces from their latest collection. The Fall 2015 collection is to die for. From an attention-grabber like the leopard print to a classic palette of black, white and gray, the collection captures it all. This week, I will be showing you 3 distinct looks for Fall and hope you'll find some inspiration along the way.

The first look I put together is office-appropriate. This blouse is a dream. It fits me perfectly everywhere (even the sleeve length is right). I am wearing a size 00P and couldn't have asked for a better fit. The fabric is wrinkle-free and feels so comfortable against the skin. The bow adds a feminine and interesting touch to the traditional blouse. Since leopard print can be tricky in the workplace, I kept the rest of the look neutral. We all have one of those outfits that makes us feel like a million bucks, this is one of mine. Stay tuned for 2 more outfits later this week!

Vintage Print Shirt Dress :: Hits & Misses # 12

This dress is the 2nd item in my order I received from Shein (see the first item here). I am indecisive about this dress. I like the style but the fabric is on the thin side. I tried to wear it with a pair of leggings but the length looked awkward on me. For those reasons, it is a miss for me. On a positive note, the ankle boots I am wearing in this post is currently 33% off. I can't recommend them enough. They're super comfortable and go with practically everything. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

2 ways to wear a buffalo check shirt

Welcome the 1st official day of Autumn! I am excited for Fall but not ready to say goodbye to Summer yet. Mixing a Fall appropriate print with a Summer shade is a great way to combine the best of both worlds. This top is supposed to be a dress but was borderline too short on me. For work, I tuck it into a pencil skirt. The pattern adds some dimension, texture, and visual interest to the outfit. On the weekend, I pair it with my trusty summer shorts. Tying the shirt gives off a laid back attitude. I am looking forward to wearing it with a pair of black leggings when the weather gets colder. The flannel feels thick and cozy. I love a true buffalo plaid shirt for Fall and this one definitely fits the bill (currently buy one get one 55% off)

Denim shorts :: Lace Top

I know everyone is talking about Fall fashion but am still trying to embrace what is left of Summer. The weather has been so nice out lately so all I want to wear is shorts. One of my all time favorite looks is mixing feminine with casual pieces. Here I styled a girly lace top with a my beloved cutoff shorts. I love the high neck is balanced perfectly with my short shorts. Have a wonderful week, everyone!

What I got for my birthday 2015

Let me first start by saying that I am not bragging in any way shape or form. I am truly thankful for my loving family everyday. I turned a year older on the 7th of this month. September has always been my favorite month of the year. It's the beginning of Fall/football season, my birthday, my little girl's birthday and our anniversary. I will be the first one to admit that I am very difficult to buy gifts for. I am at the point that there isn't much I need. Heaven knows I have more clothes than the average person would ever need. I don't want my family to spend money on my birthday just for the sake of buying something. However, spending a large sum of money on a birthday gift isn't always realistic either. To solve the "problem", we agreed to set aside a certain amount each special occasion until it's enough to splurge on a big ticket item. It's a way to save up and get what I really want instead of accumulate things in my closet.

Prada double bag in medium: We did take a look at this bag while we were in Chicago last month (there is no Prada boutique near where I live). However, it definitely wasn't on my purchase list anytime soon. A week before my birthday, for some odd reason, my husband decided to pull the trigger on this bag for me as a birthday/anniversary/Christmas gift this year (no complaints here!). I've mentioned before that my husband is someone who generally appreciates classic luxury goods whether they're for me or for him. As long as we take care of our family, he has no problem splurging here and there. To say that I am in love with the bag in a serious understatement =)
Ugg robe in baby pink: I got some birthday money from my in-laws so I spent it on this robe. I really needed a new bath robe and this one is amazing. I wish you could feel how soft it is through the computer screen. It definitely will keep me warm and cozy during the cold winter months.
Tarte Sculpt & Glow Radiant Essentials: I received this set from a good friend of mine and am really excited to try it out. Not being a makeup junkie, it's very hard for me to spend my own $$ on high-end make up products. Glad to have these beauties to play with.
Sephora birthday gift: A freebie c/o Sephora =)
Anastasia Beverly Hills lip gloss in orchird: Courtney spent her allowance to purchase this lip-gloss for me. It was so sweet of her!

White Shorts :: Black Lace Top

Soaking up the last bit of summer in my favorite pair of shorts and a new lace top. Combining dressy and casual elements in one look is something I love to do. On top of that, the color B&W has always been my favorite. Therefore, this outfit is a win-win situation in my book. Please note that this top has a cropped lining. I wore this black cami (for < $2) underneath for more coverage.

JCrew Lady Day Coat is 25% off

{Wearing: J.Crew lady day coat in 00 regular}

It's that time of year when you start thinking about winter coats. I *think* I am all set in the coat department but wanted to share a really great option. I am a huge fan of J.Crew outerwear and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. The red one shown here is almost 3 years old and I love it as much as the day I bought it. You can get yours right now for 25% off plus free shipping (no minimum - today only). I also got these 2 coats for my daughter last year. They are sufficient enough to survive a cold Ohio winter.

July and August purchases

Today, I wanted to quickly share my purchases for the month of July and August. Most of the items I bought were on sale. Limited sizes are still available if anyone's interested.

Previous monthly purchases: Jan - April | May - June

1. Black pencil skirt ($17): I wore this skirt to death (wearing here and here). For only $17, it was well worth it.
2. White eyelet dress ($32): This is the ultimate summer dress. I've worn it a few times last month and am looking forward to restyling it for the upcoming Fall.
3. Chambray rompers ($27): Didn't get to wear it as much as I would have liked (on me here)
4. Ruched knit skirt ($5): Best $5 I've ever spent! (on me here)
5. Floral pencil skirt ($8): Bought it at a warehouse sale (on me here and here). I link the exact same skirt in a different print.
6. Quay sunglasses ($50): You're probably sick of seeing these sunglasses. I can't help it. I love them so much. They fit and compliment my face well.

For the entire month of August, I spent a big fat $0 on shopping. It's lame to say but I am super proud of myself for not buying anything for the entire month. However, September (#birthdaymonth) is a total different story.

Total purchases: $139
Sold a few items from my blog sale: ($55)
Total spent in July and August: $84

A Neutral Palette :: Darling Lace Dolly Dress

I can't even tell you how much I adore this dress. It literally has everything I look for in a dress. It's girly, chic and the fit is spot on. I love the fact that the dress is 100% lined and the lining is made out of cotton. I usually prefer the cotton lining over the polyester one especially during the hot summer months. The dress is very comfortable to wear and feel extremely well made. I am looking forward to pair this dress with a leather jacket and a pair of booties when the weather gets cooler.

Scentbird: 30-Day Supply Of A Designer Fragrance For Free

30DaySupplyOfADesignerFragrance ForFree_SydneysFashionDiary

I am not really into fragrances in general. My husband bought me a few different perfumes throughout the years and I barely used them. Even though I like to try a new fragrance once in awhile, it's hard for me to commit to buying a full-szie bottle. If you are like me, Scentbird is the answer for you. For only $14.95 a month, you can get access to a 30-day supply of hundreds of top designer fragrances including Prada, Burberry and Chloe delivered to your door. Fragrance is of course something very personal and that's why Scentbird helps you find your dream scent match by searching by brand, mood, occasion or personality. I decided to try the Prada Candy and so far, I really like it. It smells fresh, clean and not over powering. You can get your own 30-day supply for FREE here.
