What's in my Chanel wallet on chain (WOC)?

I talk about my Chanel wallet on chain (WOC) to death on this blog. It's hands down one of my favorite items in the closet. Even though it's small, it has proven to be super versatile. For this week's handbag chit chat, I am going to show you what fits inside a Chanel WOC. The wallet has slots for credit cards (which I do not use) plus one zippered compartment (which I don't use either). I only use the main compartment to store my stuff. My iPhone 6 plus fits comfortably in there. I use my Kate Spade card holder to store a couple of credit cards and my ID. It's very compact and doesn't take up much space. I found this random clear pouch from my daughter's bathroom and use it for my key, chap stick and my everyday lipstick. Eventually, I want to get a small leather pouch to replace this but it works for now. There is more room inside for travel wipes if needed.

Everything pictured above fits comfortably inside the wallet without being bulky. When I use it as a clutch, I would be able to fit everything mentioned above plus room to store the strap. If you're still on the fence about this wallet, I can't recommend this enough (a huge collection of pre-owned Chanel wallet on chain available here)

Cozy knit sweater :: White denim

A pair of jeans (or leggings) and a cozy knit sweater is always a winter go-to for me. I love how chunky and warm this sweater is. Since the look is neutral and understated, I added my statement coat to make the outfit more interesting. This is my first time ordering from Make Me Chic so I wanted to share my initial thoughts. Their shipping is fast compared to some other Asia-based retailers. I got the package within a week. The quality of this particular sweater is pretty decent. The material is thick, it feels very warm and no itchy. I did have a tank top underneath."One size fits all" accommodates a wide range of sizes. One thing I wanted to mention is that the sweater smells like "grease" from the treatment. Luckily, the smell went away after a couple of days. All in all, it's a great essential piece of winter wear. Outfit details: Make me chic sweater c/o | Express denim | Colehaan boots | LOFT coat | Michael Kors runway watch

Favorites of the year :: 2015

I saw the "Favorites of the year" tag floating around YT and thought it'd be fun to do one. I did modify some of the questions to make it more "fashion-appropriate". Please feel free to share your favorites of the year in the comment section below:

1. Favorite song - Set fire to the rain by Adele
2. Favorite drink - Peppermint mocha with 3 pumps of each from Starbucks - I drink this year-round
3. Favorite trip - Our trip to Europe earlier last year. Really do wish we could stay longer.
4. Favorite new product - Becca skin perfector in champagne pop. This year, I want to experiment with new (to me) make up products. This is the first highlighter I've ever purchased and am in love. It gives the most beautiful glow without looking clownish!
5. Favorite lipstick - Anastasia Beverly Hills in Pure Hollywood - my everyday lipstick (swatch here)
6. Favorite fragrance - Elizabeth & James Nirvana White - I bought the rollerball so I could test it out and ended up loving it. The scent is captivating, fresh and clean. I will purchase a full size bottle when my rollerball runs out.
7. Favorite bag - Chanel wallet on chain - This was one of my best purchases thus far
8. Favorite piece of clothing - Ann Taylor white shirt dress: I wore it countless times during the summer/fall.
9. Favorite accessory - Quay sunglasses: You know I wear these sunglasses to death.
10. Favorite memory - My husband came home 3 hours earlier than expected from a business trip to surprise me and the girls. It might not seem like a big deal to some but for someone who's away from home a lot, this was definitely one of my favorite memories from last year.

2-in-1 Sweatshirt :: Leather Leggings

How adorable is this sweatshirt? The chiffon ruffles on the bottom add an element of feminine to an otherwise plain sweatshirt. The fit is boxy but looks great with a pair of leggings. The material is very lightweight and comfortable to wear. My favorite part is the back! It's a little sheer but not see though. You don't need to wear a cami underneath. This versatile (and affordable) piece that can be easily dressed up or down. Outfit details: Express leggings | Shein sweatshirt c/o *size S* | Chanel bag | Banana Republic pumps | Quay sunglasses | H&M coat (similar)

Review: Longchamp Le Pliage Expandable Travel Tote

For this week's handbag chit chat, I have a quick review for you. I meant to get this post up before the holidays but couldn't find time to do so. I purchased this tote several months ago and have been enjoying it. Outfit details: J.Brand leggings | Longchamp tote | Quay sunglasses | Shein coat | J.Crew gloves *tech-friendly* | GAP linen tee | Nine West boots

My very first Longchamp purchase was this tote. After using it for almost 3 years as a diaper bag, I decided to find a new home for it and used the money towards this new purchase. I was looking for something that is durable and can be used as a weekend bag. This tote exceeds all my expectations. Staying true to the brand values, the bag is extremely sturdy, well constructed and will last a good long time. What I love about this bag is the expandable option. It can be folded neatly and laid flat to fit into your luggage when travel. It makes the perfect gym bag when it isn't expanded. The expandable option is perfect for longer trips or when you need some extra space. It is like having a 2-in-1 bag.

Saks is running a tiered promotion and my beloved Burberry puffer jacket is qualify. I know it's expensive but it was one of my best purchases last year. If you're interested, this is a decent promotion I've seen thus far ($175 off). You can read my full review here.

Outfit Ideas :: One Dress Three Ways

This year, I want to focus on restyling some of my older pieces. Take this dress as an example, I have not worn it for almost a year. It's a beautiful dress made out of thick knit fabric that is very winter-appropriate

Outfit idea # 1: For a simple date night look, I opted for sheer tights and a pair of red heels. I don't wear full on red lipstick often but it's usually my lip color of choice for a night out. The faux fur coat helped pull the look together. Outfit details: Shein dress | Similar red pumps | Forever 21 faux fur coat | ZeroUV sunglasses

Hits & Misses # 18

Sharing a few misses that I've received recently. The first one is this SheIn cold-shoulder sweater. It's the exact dupe of this Free People sweater. As you can tell from the photo below, the material is so thin and appears wrinkly when taken out of the packaging. Outfit details: Express leggings | Quay sunglasses | Ninewest boots.

Next up is this Romwe woolen dress. The dress probably looks fine in photos but in person, it's so bulky. I tried to make it work by wearing it with a belt. Outfit details: Ninewest boots | Chanel bag | ZeroUV sunglasses

5 must-have liquid lipsticks

As promised to cover a variety of topics this year, today I am sharing some of my favorite liquid lipsticks. Liquid lipsticks are all the rage and every brand is coming out with their own versions. Below are 5 liquid lipsticks that I have personally tried and love:

Colourpop Ultra Matte: They are very affordable at $6 each. The color payoff is really great but can be a tad on the drying side. I usually add a layer of lip balm underneath and it's not an issue. The color lasts for 4-5 hours.

Anastasia Beverly Hills (a Macy's exclusive): These lipsticks apply so easily and dry to a lovely matte finish. The color "Pure Hollywood" is my every day lipstick. They are somewhat moisturizing and do not dry out the lips.

Lime Crime Velvetines: The pigmentation is insane. One swipe is all you need. I got the color "Cashmere" which is a nude shade with grey undertones - very popular lately. I love that it's slightly edgier than your typical nude lipstick.

Stila Stay-all day: True to its name, these Stila liquid lipsticks stay all day. It does take about 5 minutes to dry down completely matte. Once it dries, it does not budge even after eating. I absolutely love the color "Beso". It's a true red with just a tiny hint of blue. I wear it with the Milani "02 True Red" lip liner and they go perfectly well together.

Too Faced Melted: The concept is the same but they're not your typical liquid lipsticks. They dry down into a matte finish but do not completely set. Because of that, these lipsticks are lightweight and feel comfortable on the lips. The pigmentation is great but they do not last all day (probably 2-3 hours). If you are looking for a liquid lipstick with a semi-matte finish, you would like these.

For this week's handbag chit chat, I have some eye candy for you - Chanel Spring Act II pieces! I am practically drooling over these beauties. They were released a couple weeks ago. Sumissura Review :: Made-to-measure Outerwear

Today, I have a very exciting review for you. Living in a cold climate, I look out for a well made coat every year. However, being petite, finding a good-fitting coat is not always an easy task. When Sumissura reached out to me to introduce their custom coats, I feel intrigued. Outfit details: JCrew sweater | Banana Republic shirt | Sumissura coat | Express leggings | Ninewest boots | Quay sunglasses

How it works: Sumissura carries a wide rang of clothing items including: shirts, skirts, blouses and outerwear. What makes it unique is that each piece can be customized to fit your exact measurements. The process is quite simple: you select your desired piece, choose the fabric then add unique touches such as your initials to make your item even more personal. They provide 3D visualization throughout the design process so that you can see exactly what your piece is going to look like in real life. I have to say the design process was pretty cool and fun. I decided to go with a classic wool jacket. A snapshot of my coat's specifications is below. For a 100% custom coat, the cost is actually very affordable.

{all customization options}

Delivery time: I placed my order on 12/7 and received the jacket in the mail on 12/28. Generally speaking, the average delivery time is 15 days from the date of payment

Return & exchange: Because each item is custom tailored to your measurements, they cannot be returned. However, if your garment does not fit, Sumissura will cover your product alterations up to $50. If your local tailors cannot fix it, they will produce another garment from scratch with your new measurements. The amounts of refunds correspond to a maximum of: $50 for suits and coats, $35 for jackets and $20 for pants, shirts, and skirts. Pretty cool if you ask me!

2015 :: 2016

Welcome to the first official post of 2015. I meant to publish this last week but it was hard to string my thoughts together when the kids were around. As we welcome 2016, it's a great time to reflect on the past year and look forward to a new one.

Personal life: I feel very fortunate to be able to cross Europe off my travel bucket list. The trip was definitely one of our highlights of the year. On the flip side, my husband's workload has become too overwhelming. He's been travelling for work often for years. That's nothing new and to be honest, I am used to it. He took a total of 48 business trips in 2015. If you do the math, that's one trip per week. I always try my best to support him but there is a lot of responsibility on my shoulders when he's not around. Juggling a full-time career with 2 kids can be very challenging. At the end of the day, I have little to no patience for anyone. I get frustrated easily and become difficult to be around. I always keep my personal life private but wanted to share a small snippet of our lives. My husband has been working extremely hard for the past 2 years with a goal to move up to a VP level in the company that he currently works for. His typically work week is 60-70 hours not including travel. It's exhausting but I do stand behind him and hope one day he'll be able achieve his goal. Unfortunately, it didn't happen because of the company culture. Wasn't the news he wanted to hear but we finally accept the fact that it's time to move on. I am ready for a change in 2016 and excited to plan his next move.

Blogging: As mentioned previously, I wasn't into blogging as much as I used to and it has definitely shown on the blog. With social media these days, everything seems so perfect. It's hard not to compare. Sometimes, I get caught up in the social media numbers game and feel discouraged. I have to remind myself that blogging is not my full time job, my life certainly do not depend on it and running this blog is just a hobby. There were times I wanted to do a makeup tutorial or beauty product reviews but changed my mind because I was afraid they will be less than perfect. This year, I will be experimenting with a variety of topics and just have fun with it. You guys seem to like "handbag chit chat" posts based on the number of views.
