MadeBySydney.com is born

Happy Fourth, everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your long weekend. I've been having so much fun. If you're following me on IG, you probably have seen a snippet of our weekend. We set off fireworks in our own backyard, went to a couple of BBQs with friends and we are getting the boat ready right now for a day at the lake. Before I go, I've got some exciting news I'd like to share with you. As you might remember, I opened my very own Etsy shop back in April. While the shop is doing fairly well (I've made almost 200 sales in 3 months), the number of fees I have to pay to sell on the platform is killing me. Each item is subject to a listing fee, a transaction fee and a payment processing fee. At the end of the day, my ultimate goal is not to rely on anyone's else platform. If you know me, you know I dislike being dependent on others. If I have a way to get things done by myself, you bet I would. Long story short, I spent weeks building my own store and finally, MadeBySydney.com is born. It's an eCommerce site. You can place orders, pay with major credit cards or PayPal. It's fully integrated with a third-party logistics company and I ship worldwide. A few orders came in and one of them is going to France so I know the site is fully functioning. You can follow my business on IG @MadeBySydneyShop. I just created the account yesterday =)

I haven't decided if I am going to close my Etsy shop permanently or keeping it active and not listing. I know ratings and reviews help consumers make confident purchases. It's important for my business as well as for potential customers. There are still a lot that I want to do for my site but I am happy with it for now. Who have enough hours in the day to get everything done, right? Check the site out if you're interested. Once again, thank you for your continued support 💕
