Review: Petite-friendly Hooded Parka

Today, I want to quickly share my thoughts on this jacket. I know most of us are looking forward to warmer weather but I had been on the lookout for a parka for my coming trip to Alaska. I do have quite a few jackets in my closet but they are too dressy for the occasion. I wanted something casual that can keep me warm while hiking and doing outdoor activities. I searched high and low and ended up ordering this one from ASOS. I have never heard of this brand before and did not have high hopes for it. Luckily, this jacket turned out perfect! Outfit details: Only hooded parka | J. Brand leggings | Me Too boots | Quay sunglasses

I really like the feel of this jacket. The fabric is very soft and comfortable to wear (I was pleasantly surprised). For some reason, I always associate parka with ruggedness and stiff material. The quilted lining feels great against the skin. I am wearing a size XS here and the fit is spot on. I love the longer length and can easily wear layers underneath. As you can see in the photos, the sleeve length is also spot on. Measurements are as follows: shoulder-to-shoulder = 15", overall length = 30"

There are 6 real outside pockets. The 2 bottom ones are big enough for my iPhone 6 plus. They're great for small items such as sunglasses, gloves and chap stick. The gold detailing is adorable and I love the faux leather trims. The thickness of this jacket is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want a heavy/bulky jacket nor a lightweight jacket. I would describe this parka as medium weight and it's perfect for cooler climates. Even with the XS, I still have plenty of room for layers underneath. All in all, I am pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend.

I can't hardly contain my excitement for Alaska. My husband and I talked about this trip for what seemed like forever. I can't remember the last time we took a trip together, just the two of us. We can't wait to experience and explore the natural beauty of Alaska. We pretty much have everything mapped out but if you have any recommendations, I would really appreciate if you can share them in the comment section below.
