Review: Petite-friendly Hooded Parka

Today, I want to quickly share my thoughts on this jacket. I know most of us are looking forward to warmer weather but I had been on the lookout for a parka for my coming trip to Alaska. I do have quite a few jackets in my closet but they are too dressy for the occasion. I wanted something casual that can keep me warm while hiking and doing outdoor activities. I searched high and low and ended up ordering this one from ASOS. I have never heard of this brand before and did not have high hopes for it. Luckily, this jacket turned out perfect! I really like the feel of this jacket. The fabric is very soft and comfortable to wear (I was pleasantly surprised). For some reason, I always associate parka with ruggedness and stiff material. The quilted lining feels great against the skin. I am wearing a size XS here and the fit is spot on. I love the longer length and can easily wear layers underneath. As you can see in the photos, the sleeve length is also spot on. Measurements are as follows: shoulder-to-shoulder = 15", overall length = 30"



There are 6 real outside pockets. The 2 bottom ones are big enough for my iPhone 6 plus. They're great for small items such as sunglasses, gloves and chap stick. The gold detailing is adorable and I love the faux leather trims. The thickness of this jacket is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want a heavy/bulky jacket nor a lightweight jacket. I would describe this parka as medium weight and it's perfect for cooler climates. Even with the XS, I still have plenty of room for layers underneath. All in all, I am pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend.

I can't hardly contain my excitement for Alaska. My husband and I talked about this trip for what seemed like forever. I can't remember the last time we took a trip together, just the two of us. We can't wait to experience and explore the natural beauty of Alaska.
