I’ve always been a fan of flare jeans. Although, I’ve worn my skinny jeans most of the time during winter, it’s fun to bring the flare ones out once in a while. I am glad that flare jeans are coming back in style. I am almost 5'3", it’s hard for me to find a pair of skinny jeans that fit properly. If they fit my waist, they are usually too short. In my opinion, for skinny jeans, the length has to hit at a perfect length. With flare jeans, you can somewhat get away with it.
I felt good wearing this outfit. This button-down shirt is my new love. If you’re petite, you know how hard it is to find a fitted button-down shirt. While online shopping the other day, I stumbled upon this shirt at Banana Republic. I read the online reviews for it and every single one of them said this shirt runs small, tight, sleeves are being too tight…That is a good sign for petite ladies. True to their words, it runs tiny. I stopped by BR the very next day and was happy to see it there. I am wearing an XSP (I typically wear BR tops in an XXSP) and I couldn’t have asked for a better fit. Continue reading...
The shoulder, the length and the torso fits like a glove throughout. It has a country look to it. I feel like a country girl wearing this outfit. It’s hard to see but I even had on a pair of cowboy boots. I usually roll up my sleeves but the sleeve length also hits at a perfect length when unrolled. I like how the ruffles add a feminine touch to the shirt. It makes it more interesting than a typical button down shirt. I am thinking about going back and get the other color. If you're looking for a petite-friendly button down shirt, I highly recommend this one. Don't forget to enter my giveaway, tomorrow is the last day (giveaway is closed!)

Cute outfit! I like this shirt a lot despite the fact that I am not a big fan of the button down shirt. Its pastel color and ruffle make this shirt feminine. I like when you roll up the sleeves too. Great find..I want one!
You look lovely on these pics :) Also I looove flare pants <3
U look great Sydney!! I have a similar version of this BR shirt but in gray and love it:-) it looks great underneath a cardi too:-)
Love the jeans and the top! You look so much taller than 5'3" in the last picture! Love that you paired this look with cowboy boots :) Did they have a heel or are they mostly flat?
darn, it's sold out online!
so chic!
You look very cute in these pictures. I love this outfit. The ruffled shirt is very cute. Even more so with sleeves rolled up. These jeans are lovely. And at least to me, 7 for All Mankind makes some of the loveliest flare jeans of any designer, whether low-end or high-end. While it may be snowing and cold in these images, you are red hot with style. Dazzling beauty you possess in these pictures!

Top looks great...and I love the jeans!
I totally agree with your musings on flare & skinny jeans. That's the reason why I put off buying skinnies for a while. Plus, I felt like jeans with a slight flare help balance me out.
Thanks so much for the heads up! I love the fit on you and really love those jeans too!!
You look GREAT! I love the ruffled shirt! Those jeans are Sevens, but not 7 for all Mankind jeans. The backside logo doesn't look like that. I love the length of the jeans on you! :)
This outfit has such a nice retro feel to it but it still looks very modern as well. I love the top, it's so interesting and it matches well with the rest of your outfit! =)
oooh, what a great fitting shirt on you! i love the slim sleeves and it looks like the shoulders fit perfectly. i'll definitely have to check this out.
and those flare jeans are perfect on you! i need to find myself a pair. :)
After seeing you in that shirt, I'm actually thinking of going back too and getting the blue one!
See, I think BR should be giving you commission for that sale!
=)
Love the grey coat!
Cute!!! Love the fit and look of that shirt on you! The ruffles are a lovely detail :)
How cute!
I love how you can pull off those flare jeans!

Nice! Banana does make a great fit for button-downs!
The lavnder looks gorgeous on you! Loving that jacket, too!!
I can never wear jaens and still look so chic.

The pattern of your shirt is quite lovely. Girl can't go wrong with ruffle detailing! Nice find on Banana Republic, it is really hard to find anything small there or even have the small sizes in stock.
As for the flare jeans statement, I agree that the length can be longer than skinny style jeans. However, if they are too long it probably looks really dumb. I remember my jeans from high school were 2 inches piled onto the ground and I decided to cuff them. Bad idea.
New follower here ;) I love this look! And it's funny, I've probably seen that jacket so many times on the BR site, but like it now that I see it on you. As for shopping for clothes with your height, I totally get it! I am just over 5'3 and I always have issues with pants/jeans. I don't like the shorter ones because I typically wear 4in heels, but the reg length is always too long. Ah well. Looking forward to reading more!
I say button downs are a petite do, as modeled by you! We're over on the West coast, and I can't imagine how you're outdoors without a coat on, with snow in the background. As for the outfit, you don't even look petite! :) The flares are magically lengthening.
Oh my gosh, I REALLY REALLY REALLY like this outfit. Flared jeans look so good on you, and that button-up is perfection.
I so agree, button-downs are super hard to find! I find them either too tiny, or too big in the back and shoulders. I never realized how hard it was to find a button-down that was meant to fit loose, but not be oversized. Actually, I gave up and just opted to purposely go for an oversized look :p
