Muse Apparel: One Dress - Two Ways

I am always on the lookout for fresh and unique places to shop. A few weeks ago, I have had the pleasure of working with Muse Apparel and wanted to share my experience. Muse Apparel was founded in 1999 on the idea of creating a woman's apparel brand for women of all ages and bodies. Muse Apparel focuses on trend-right and fashion-forward designs for the confident, stylish woman. The resort 2013 collection offers modern pieces with a classic twist. The collection has been featured in various magazines such as Vogue, Redbook, Real Simple..etc. Muse Apparel is available online as well as in Macy's, Nordstrom and Zappos

What I am wearing:
Coat: Ann Taylor Boulevard Trench *altered* (buy similar)
Shoes: Banana Republic Natasha maryjanes (almost identical)
Clutch: Banana Republic exotic clutch (buy similar)
Bracelet: David Yurman 5mm classic cable

While floral print is not always my cup of tea, the classic black and white combo is what attracted me to this dress. There is nothing more classic than the sheath with its fitted bodice and universally flattering cut. Not only I love the color combination, I also love the beautiful details on back. I adore it so much that I decided to wear it backwards to show off the sexy neckline. It definitely changed the whole look of the dress. I decided to go with minimal accessories and let the dress do the talking. The entire dress is double-lined, extremely well made and of course, the details are breathtakingly beautiful.

Since the brand doesn't cater to petites, the fit is not perfect on me but acceptable. As you can tell from the photos, the length is just right on my 5'2" frame. Thankfully, the length doesn't need to be shortened. It would be tough to shorten this dress and keep the original hem. The upper part of the dress also fits nicely. I would need alterations in the hip areas to give the dress a bit more form fitting. I was tempted to alter it myself but intimidated by the double-lining. I'll have to give it some thought or let my tailor alter it.

Personally, I love wearing this dress backwards. How about you? Muse Apparel generously offered to giveaway the exact same dress to one lucky reader of SydneysFashionDiary. I will have the giveaway up in the next couple of days. If you're interested, please look out for it on Wednesday.

That dress looks great on you. I prefer the front way; I think that straight-across neckline is very flattering, but the detail on the back is pretty too. I love your shoes as well!

Absoluely beautiful, Sydney. LOVE this dress and the mary jane pumps. I'd prefer this dress backwards. Either way, it's nice to know anyone can look stylish with that dress either worn forward or backward. Gorgeous style! Love this look!

I wish they had put the pretty scallop neck detailing on the front! It's a shame that you don't get to enjoy it as much if it's in the back and you don't get to see it much. I just wonder if wearing it backwards is comfortable since there's no bust allowance?

I love it backwards because I think the boat neck suits you! Not that the V neck doesn't, of course!

I loved scalloped edges, but I especially like how the neckline is scalloped.
