The Petite Shop - Adrianna Papell Scalloped Lace Dress

This is the last look I did for The Petite Shop. As you can see, I clearly have an obsession with lace dresses =) For this particular dress, the smallest size available was a 4P. As expected, the 4P was just big all around. I decided to review it anyway because not everyone is going to be a size 00. The last photo shows how it fits me off the rack. As expected, the quality of this dress is impeccable. The dress is fully lined. Even though it was big for me throughout, the band hits right at my natural waist and luckily, the length hits me just above my knees. Those are important things that I look for when shopping for petite dresses.

What I am wearing:
Shoes: Express two-strap heeled sandals (on sale!
Clutch/Wallet: Kate Spade turn-lock Mara (very similar)
Sunglasses: Kate Spade Gayla

I know some don’t but I personally love the nude lining. It adds a touch of old Hollywood and makes the lace stand out more. The lining feels soft but crisp enough to hold the shape of the dress. The nude lining provides 100% coverage but leaves something to the imagination =) The dress itself is an A-line cut but I plan to get it altered to a sheath dress. For this particular dress, I think a form-fitting cut is more suitable for formal events.

I keep this outfit simple with minimal accessories, letting the dress really stand out. When I know I only need one piece of jewelry, I always gravitate towards my David Yurman bracelet. It’s not only a classic piece that goes with everything, it also holds a very special place in my heart. I also keep my hair and makeup minimal to let the dress play center-stage. I picked up the Too Faced La Crème lipstick in Razzle Dazzle Rose lipstick a few weeks ago and have been wearing it non-stop. I've been on the search for the perfect baby pink lipstick for months and finally found the one that I truly love. I adore this dress and think it would be perfect for a cocktail party or a date night! A special thanks to The Petite Shop for providing all the wonderful items featured this week. I hope you guys enjoy all the outfits I put together.

On a completely different note, I am sad that Google Reader will be gone this weekend. I used it for years to follow my favorite blogs, but unfortunately, as of next Monday, they will close forever. With this change, I hope that you will consider following my blog through Bloglovin and other social media platforms listed below. I truly appreciate your support and hope you continue to stick around.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

OMG that is a gorgeous dress Sydney...you know me and lace LOL! Too bad that it is too big on you - I wonder how it would fit on me? And is it meant to be more flared at the skirt do you think or more fitted like a pencil skirt?

This dress is so gorgeous! I love the lace and the scalloped bottom. Too bad it didn't fit you, would have been a great addition to your closet!

This dress looks more beautiful on you than on the model!

@Elaine A (TOBeautyReviews) Thanks, Elaine! I think it's meant to be more flared at the skirt.

Hi Sydney,
Another incredibly beautiful lace dress!
On another note, I've received the TB tote and I'm loving it!
Initially, when I read your review, for some reason I could only see and read half of it. Later, when I was looking for reviews on Google I again came across your review, this time the complete one!
I saw that you have addressed exactly my concerns! And also, thanks a bunch for the feedback when I left a comment!
Thankfully, the bag is not too heavy for me(I've encountered heavier bags!) and since I work from home,I need not carry my lap top everyday.
Thanks again for your detailed review!
Love

Stunning. This dress combines two of my favourite aspects which are lace and scalloped edges. Such a beautiful colour too. I really want this dress.

cobalt is such a great color on you! very brave of you to go outside and take pics with the back clipped! i get so many weird looks as it is! i'm surprised that that pink lip color looks so good on you. i remember having an obsession with finding a light pink lip stain more than a few years back now. nothing looked good. nada. i have to go with a bronze or coral tint. i do have a mac store by me now that i could stop into, but i hate feeling like i have to buy something. yay for your upcoming vacation!! i'm about 6 months or more away from any vacation time. kind of a bummer. i do get weekends off next month, tho :)

This dress is gorgeous, and probably my favorite one too. I love how the cobalt blue is bright and bold and the feminine touch the lace gives at the hem. Like you, I like the nude slip, it kind of elevates the elegance of this dress. :)

Beautiful. I like lace dresses too. (Somehow I think most women do.) And it's great that you kept the accessories at minimum. Good idea with busy prints.

The dress looks lovely on you. It's a shame they didn't have one in your size.
