5 non-clothing essentials for Fall

FallEssentials_SydneysFashionDiary
The first day of Fall is less than 2 weeks away so I though I'd share 5 non-clothing essentials for Fall with you. There is nothing new about these items. They have been talked about to death but I can't stress enough the importance of having these essentials in my closet. I am looking forward to bring them out again in a few weeks.

Fall essential # 1: A blanket scarf - No brainer, right? It can be worn so many ways and is a great way to add color and pattern to a basic outfit. There are tons of options out there and for the most part, they're pretty inexpensive as well.

Fall essential # 2: A wool hat - I was on the hunt for a wool hat this Fall and picked up this one last week. I am in love. It's gorgeous in person and the price is right. This hat is available in 4 colors. It's a little big on me but I use this trick and it works like a charm. I might have to pick up the grey version as well

Fall essential # 3: Fashion tights - Fall is the perfect time to rock sheer tights. Patterned tights are the easiest way to elevate your Fall outfits. I did a review for Berkshire tights last year and am thrilled for the opportunity to try a few pairs from their Fall collection. The sheer dots tights are perfect for this time of the year when temperatures in the 50s and 60s. They add a fun element to any outfit. What I love about Berkshire tights is that they have so many options to choose from. The easy on version is great for everyday wear. The moisture wicking material keeps you cool and dry. When the temperature drops into the 30s, the cozy hose is the perfect option. As its name suggest, these are opaque tights with fleece-lined legs. They feel so soft against the skin and are so comfortable to wear. As mentioned in the review, Berkshire tights are available in petite, regular and tall sizes.

Fall essential # 4: Fall lipstick shades - Your cozy outfit would not be complete without a Fall lipstick shade. Nude lipsticks are all I wear (my everyday choice of color is Gerald Cosmetics Skinny Dip) but there are a few darker shades in my makeup draw that I am excited to pull out when the temperature drops. #1: Gerald Cosmetics 1995 (mauve tones with a hint of brown), # 2: Mirabelle Red Velet lip pencil (this is technically a lip pencil but I use it as a lipstick). It goes on smooth and is so creamy. # 3: Marc Jacobs Slow Burn (this is a rosy mauve shade that is very flattering on me). It doesn't dry matte but is very hydrating and comfortable to wear. I would highly recommend this line.

Fall essential # 5: Everyday ankle booties - Can't talk about Fall without mentioning a pair of ankle booties. I picked up this pair last year and had been wearing them non stop last Fall. They're no longer available but you can check out their latest styles here. Ankle booties go with everything and they're truly a Fall essential.

If you're looking for a really unique pair of tights, Stern Tights sells beautiful metallic-accented silk-screened tights. I've never seen a single other brand that does anything like it. I just picked up five pairs a week ago! I'm 4'9 and their size S-M fits great so it shouldn't be a problem for any other petite women :)
