...Then this old sweater dress caught my eyes (my skirts and dresses are hanging next to each other in my closet). It’s not a sweater but a sweater dress will do just fine =) I got this dress last year from H&M and only wore it a handful of times. The top part of this dress goes perfectly with this skirt. The key is to wear a puffy bottom to hide the bulkiness. I love discovering new pairings.
Say hello to the last item on my wishlist – a pair of black boots. I've been looking for a pair of low-heeled (but not flat), plain, black boots for a long time. I was so excited to stumble upon these Nine West boots over the weekend. Those pretty much met all my requirements. I can wear them to work and also after work to run errands/shopping without scarifying my comfort.
What I am wearing:
Skirt: BB Dakota Kari skirt - size 0 (c/o J.E.M Apparel)
Dress (wore as top): H&M 2010 - size 2 (buy similar - available in XXS)
Boots: Nine West Tilldawn via DSW
Tights: GAP opaque tights- size S
Jacket: BR Wool Short Trench - size XSR (buy similar)
Necklace: Amrita Singh Montauk necklace
Dress (wore as top): H&M 2010 - size 2 (buy similar - available in XXS)
Boots: Nine West Tilldawn via DSW
Tights: GAP opaque tights- size S
Jacket: BR Wool Short Trench - size XSR (buy similar)
Necklace: Amrita Singh Montauk necklace
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Can't believe tomorrow will be DECEMBER! Where did the year go?

Such a cute skirt. Oh, aren't tights great? Girls here literally live in them. But then again, we are in Seattle, where it is cold all the time.

the b/w photos look amazing, and your skirt is really pretty.
Love this look!
I am surprised that an xs reg coat from Banana fits so well! Did you alter it?
Can you post the style name of the boot?
Yay for multi-function pieces! Love your new boots.
@Michelle No, I didn't alter it. Please see my old post here =)
@Rebecca Hi Rebecca, sorry about that! I updated the post. The style is called Tilldawn.
Hello, could you please let us know what kind of tights you are wearing when you wear tights in your blog posts? I am very much new to wearing tights, and yours always look great :)
This is such a basic topic, tights!! I am so bad at fashion that I am a bit ashamed I am asking such a basic question. That's why I am anonymous btw. I've been following your blog religiously for the past few months, and I must say that I love your style.
I adore adore adore this look!!! I love discovering old items and remixing them.
I love wearing dresses under skirts! It allows for an entirely different look. I love your pairing here, and especially your boots - very cute.
@Anonymous Thank you so much for following. There is nothing wrong with asking basic questions. I am still learning so much through blogging. I am a huge fan of these GAP tights. I've been wearing them for years. They're very durable and also washable. A size small fits me perfectly (I'm 5'2) without bunching up. I know there are several bloggers who love H&M tights. You might want to give it a try. Hope this helps!
Great b/w photos. Adorable outfit and I love finding old items and adding them to new purchases. :)
Thanks so much, I'll give those GAP tights a try. I really appreciate that you replied so quickly, and with so much detailed info.
Thats a very cute outfit! Love the skirt!
A short skirt with black tights are my favorite this season. It's such a great combination and you look fantastic.
I like how you turned the sweater dress into a top, and I like the stripes on the skirt! I am really glad that 2012 is almost here. 2011 has been a very hard and rough year for me. Thank god it is almost over!!!!!
Still loving that skirt Sydney, it's fabulous!!
