My luxury wishlist for 2020

Sharing what's on my luxury wishlist for 2020.
2020LuxuryWishlist_SydneysFashionDiary
1. Gucci belt bag: I wanted to try the belt bag trend for awhile. Thinking about putting my Christmas $$ towards this adorable belt bag (also available here and here)
2. Louis Vuitton Keepall 45 in monogram  macassar: This is the only print I am interested in. I probably would never purchase a Louis Vuitton luggage but I love the idea of having a Keepall. Since I always pack light when I travel, this duffle bag would be a great additional to my handbag collection.
4. Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps: These shoes were 30% off last October. It was a decent discount but I had other priorities at the time so I had to pass. These shoes are high on my list this year. They're so beautiful and elegant in person (also available here and here)
4. Van Cleef & Arpels earrings: At some point, I'd like to get the VCA Alhambra earrings to match my necklace. Not sure if it's going to happen this year or not but that's the plan =)
5. Canada Goose Chelsea parka: If you remember, I reviewed the Rideau parka last year. In that post, I said I was going to exchange for a size XS instead. Well, I never ended up doing that due to other commiments. This year, I stumbled upon the Chelsea while browsing at my local Saks and fell in love with it. The fit is even better than the Rideau. The only issue is that it has real coyote fur as trim and I am just not a fan. I wish they make the non-fur version of this jacket. I would buy it in a heartbeat (also available here and here). The search continues...

There you have it. Those are the 5 luxury items on my wishlist this year. What's on your wishlist for 2020?

Fall/Winter wishlist 2013

Every season I create a wish list of items I would like to have. I was able to complete my list every year except the 2 items below. So this year, I am not wishing for anything except these 2 particular items. I am determined to add them both to my closet this fall/winter =)

If you're a long time follower of this blog, you'll know I rarely wear pants. It's not that I don't like them, it's because I couldn't find a pair that fits properly for the life of me. I have one pair of pants that I truly love from LOFT but they're in the storage right now. I am tempted to dig through boxes to find them. Because of that, it makes me realize how much I need more pants in my wardrobe. This year, I am particularly looking for a pair of fitted trousers (preferably in red). I am always a fan of boot-cut trousers since ankle pants always hit me at a weird spot. Below are a few contenders. I actually tried on this pair and this pair last week. Will share my thoughts on the blog soon.

Living in the Midwest, heavy jackets are a must. I bought 3 new jackets last year (this one in red, this one and this one) so I am no longer in need for a thick wool jacket. However, I am still looking for a leather one. Debating whether I should go for a faux leather jacket or shell out the $$ for a real one. Here are a few options. Right now I am leaning towards ordering this jacket to try.

BB Dakota | Free People | Blank NYC| Michael Kors

Those are 2 items on my wishlist this year. What are yours? If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear.

Fall Wishlist - A burgundy skirt

# 2 on my Fall wishlist was a burgundy skirt. I know everyone is embracing the burgundy/bordeaux trend this season. I've always admired full skirts on other people but for some reasons, I don't think they look good on me. I picked up this skirt from Forever 21 last month and am impressed with the quality. This was my first piece of burgundy clothes this season. Burgundy is such an easy color to look great in. This skirt is fully lined and has good weight to it. It’s sold out online but you can pick up a similar one here. I think I've purchased everything on my wishlist except an oversized sweater. I am still looking for one. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated =)

What I am wearing:
Skirt: Forever 21 (buy similar)
Sweater: Tommy Hilfiger *old* (buy similar)
Shirt: Ann Taylor perfect shirt
Shoes: C-Label Hudson flats (see my review)
Bracelet: David Yurman 5mm cable bracelet
Coat: J.Crew icon trench
Tights: GAP sheer dot tights
Sunglasses: Kate Spade Gayla

Review: C-Label Hudson Flats

I have had a few readers asking me about the fit of the C-Label Hudson flats I've mentioned in this post so I thought I’d do a quick review.

Fit:
I would say these flats run a ½ size larger. I am between a 6.5 and 7 in most shoes and the 7 was definitely too big. Even though, they have pointed toes, the toe area is roomy enough that it doesn't pinch my toes at all. As you can see in these photos, these fit me with no gap in the back of the heel. Also, I prefer shoes with minimal toe cleavage shown. It's just a personal preference. I know some people do like toe cleavage.

Material:
These are 100% man made. While I would always prefer leather shoes, I am not against faux leather at all. All my Target shoes are made from synthetic materials and they're quite comfy. These shoes do not require breaking in. I found them very comfy right out of the box.

I bought my Mom the exact same pair in brown and she is quite happy with them as well. They are so easy to pair with casual or work outfits. So far, I've worn them with skinny jeans, dresses and skirts. The snakeskin print on the back adds a bit of modern touch to these flats. If you're looking for a pair of flats with ankle straps, I highly recommend these. They fit my everyday needs, fill a void in my closet and are affordable.

A bit of Edge

I think it's very difficult to stay true to your personal style yet still look fresh and on trend. The best way I can describe my style is casual and classic. Often times, my style is heavily influenced by classic, casual pieces and of course, mostly in neutrals. Classic clothes and accessories are great investment pieces, but the style can become boring if it isn't mixed with others. I always try to stay true my style but love adding a twist to a classic look.

For someone who loves classic lines, a leather jacket is not always high on my list. Although, I did spend quite a bit of time last year looking for one. I gave up after a while because everything I found was either too expensive or not the right fit. Originally, I wanted a real leather jacket. Later on, I realized it wasn't a smart buy to spend over $300 on something that I wasn't sure about. For some people, leather jackets are winter staples. For me, a leather jacket is just a trendy accessory to my wardrobe. I would grab my pea coat over a leather jacket any day.

For a trendy piece I only wear a few times a year, I am happy with the standing collar biker jacket from OASAP. The faux leather is incredibly soft. The fit is perfect for someone my size. I like the cropped look with subtle rock-chic details. This particular jacket is sold out but they have several different styles to choose from. One item crossed off my fall/winter wish list =)

Here's a recap of what I've accomplished so far on my wish list:
1. Ankle-strap flats (purchased)
2. A burgundy skirt (purchased)
3. A cross-body bag for work (purchased)
4. A pair of printed pumps (purchased)
5. A leather/faux leather moto jacket (purchased)
6. An over-sized sweater
7. A new pair of riding boots (something similar to this or this)
8. A leopard infinity scarf (thinking about getting this scarf)
9. A plaque belt (something similar to this) or a leopard belt (something similar to this)

Readers, how would you describe your personal style?

Fall/Winter 2012 Wishlist

Last year, I put together a Fall wishlist and it worked out really well. Since I don’t have an unlimited budget, a wish list helps me stay focused on what I truly want. It also gives me something to work towards when I am out shopping instead of buying things I end up not needing. Here are 10 items on my wishlist this Fall. Though I don't have much time to go shopping these days, I've already knocked off a few items from my list (thanks to online shopping!)

1. Ankle-strap flats (purchased)
2. A burgundy skirt (purchased)
3. A cross-body bag for work (purchased)
4. A pair of printed pumps (purchased)
5. A leather/faux leather moto jacket (purchased)
6. An over-sized sweater
7. A new pair of riding boots (purchased)
8. A leopard infinity scarf (purchased)
9. A plaque belt (something similar to this) or a leopard belt (something similar to this)
10. New skincare product. I've been searching for new skincare products to improve my skin. I heard so many great things about the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. I think I am going to give it a try.

As you can see, my list is a good mix of classic and trendy items. I am so excited for the cooler weather and looking forward to add these new items to my wardrobe.

My Spring/Summer Wish-list

I am a huge fan of having a fashion wish-list. My Fall/Winter wish-list from last year helped tremendously. I find that wish-list helps me focus on what I need and stops me from making impulse purchases. It’s important to figure out what your personal style is. Once you have a strong sense of what you like and what suits you, you’re less likely to spend money following trends that don't work for you.

I started my Spring/Summer wish-list a few months ago but had to make a few changes. I am halfway done finding and purchasing items on my wish-list so I thought I’ll share the list with you.

1. Pastel skinny jeans (American Eagle skinnies in yellow zest - see them here)
2. A new work bag (J.Crew Tillary tote - see it here)
3. A pair of cap-toe flats (purchased - see my review here)
4. A pair of pointy pumps (purchased - review is coming soon)

{Wish-list item # 5 - H&M denim jacket, Wish-list item # 6 - Kate Spade Gayla sunglasses}

5. A denim jacket (purchased- review is coming soon)
6. A new pair of sunglasses (purchased - review is coming soon)
7. Maxi dresses
8. Something polka dots
9. Longchamp Planete Large Tote
10. Some new (chunky) jewelry

As you can see, items on my wish-list aren’t something out of the ordinary. These are items that I don’t already have in my closet. Of course, money can't buy you style, it’s not what you wear sometimes but the way you wear it.

Readers, what do you wish for this season?

Fall Wish-list Item # 3: Something leopard

Hope everyone had a great holiday break. I didn’t step foot in the mall nor do any shopping online this year. My sister told me I wasn’t missing out on any great deals. Today, back to work I go. At least, things are quiet at work.

Fall Wish-list Item # 5: A new pair of black boots

Believe it or not, today, I wore tights for the first time this season. I cleaned out my closet last weekend and rediscovered this skirt. I haven’t worn it since my 30x30 challenge. This morning, I wanted to pair this skirt with a black sweater. Unfortunately, I don’t have one =(

DIY Project: Slimming and shortening a skirt

I've been on the look out for a wool pencil skirt in burnt orange but haven’t run into anything that caught my attention. Then I decided to look on eBay. I was so excited to find 2 vintage wool skirts for a total of $14.00 (shipping included). The waist measures 24 inches which is perfect for me. Unfortunately, they were a smidgen long and wide for my frame. I decided to bite the bullet and attempt a DIY alteration. I did a video with the intention of showing you how to do this step by step. However, it didn’t turn out very well. It was extremely hard to cut/sew/film at the same time. So no video this time, but I definitely will put more time into it for my next DIY project.

Review: Talbots Shoe Haul

My Talbots shoe order has finally arrived. I was going to review them yesterday (before the promotion ended) but there was an issue with my order. I didn't get them until today. However, Talbots is having a "Friends and Family" event (30% off everything with code FRIENDS plus free shipping). I hope I can give you some useful information just in case you are eyeing some shoes. I ordered 3 pairs of shoes to try. I'm normally a 6.5 (sometimes a 7) in shoes.

First up is the Corrine Platform Penny Loafers in 6.5 (small sizes are still available)

Fall Wish-list Item # 8: Leopard flats

I own one pair of flats and have been wearing them for almost 3 years. I always have a pair of flats in my car just in case I go shopping after work =). Other than that, I wear high heels most of the time. A month ago, I found a hole in the sole of my flats and knew it’s time for a new pair. I've been obsessed with leopard print lately. What better way to find a new pair of leopard flats, right?

Fall Wish-list Item # 7: Rust colored blazer

I have always loved blazers and always will. Blazers are a classic staple in any women's wardrobe. They can instantly define your look and add sophistication to any ensemble. A year ago, I could count my blazers on one hand and they only existed in the color black and gray. I have been loving colored blazers and itching to wear this Gap blazer that I purchased last month. The weather is getting a bit warmer this week. It’s the perfect time to take it out for a spin. For this outfit, I wanted to highlight the blazer so I kept the rest of the look in neutral shades. I hope you enjoy this outfit. Don't forget to turn your clocks back an hour and enjoy the extra sleep!

What I am wearing:
Blazer: Gap point-lapel blazer - size 0
Lace tee: A&F girl - size L (buy similar)
Short: Club Monaco - size 0 (buy similar - available in 00)
Booties: Steve Madden (buy similar)
Necklace: c/o Stella & Dot
Ring: Forever21 (buy similar)

Fall Wish-list Item # 11: A Cobalt Blue Skirt

I am delighted to cross another item off my wishlist – a cobalt blue skirt. Thanks to the sweetest Jean for picking up an extra one for me while ordering hers during the Ann Taylor’s sale a few weeks ago. Despite the fact that it was just a tad big on her, it fits me perfectly throughout. I am so in love with this color. Even the husband said so. I don’t have anything like this in my closet so I am super excited for this addition. Even though this was a mini skirt, I still think the length is totally appropriate for work when paired with black tights. Since the mini-skirt is short and shows off your legs, you would want to keep your top half pretty covered. I paired this skirt with a sweater vest for a much casual look. A pair of booties completes this mini-casual look. This skirt is also a good candidate for achieving a chic color-block look. I can see myself pairing this skirt with a tank top and a black blazer for a dressier look. The possibilities are endless!

What I am wearing:
Skirt: Ann Taylor Ponte Mini Skirt in Cobalt - size 00P
Vest: Forever21 Fair Isle Vest - size Small
Shirt: Ann Taylor Twill Shirt - size 0P
Booties: Banana Republic (buy similar)

Fall Wish-list Item # 6: A clutch/cross-body bag

These pictures were taken a while back for the IT girl feature but I haven’t had a chance to post them yet. This military pencil skirt was one of the items that I picked out for the feature. Unfortunately, the size 0 was too big for me.

My Fall/Winter wish-list

Although I enjoyed the warm weather in the Summer, Fall is still my absolute favorite season of the year. I enjoy my pumpkin spice latte on the way to work every morning, Fall activities with my family and of course I love Fall layering. It’s so easy to buy more clothes when I see amazing outfits put together by fashion/style bloggers. Thus, I feel it’s necessary to have list of things that I somewhat need and stick with it. Other than a few inexpensive items that I’ve bought here and there, I am staying true to my wish list. It is half way completed so I thought I'd share my Fall wish list with you guys

A few snapshots of Summer (clockwise): (1) & (3): Cruising and spending time at the lake, (2): Lots of ice cream from the ice cream truck (4): Summer vacation.

Fall Wish-list Item # 4: A classic camel coat

My search for a new winter coat continues after a failed attempt with the Zara coat. Although, my original plan was to search for a mustard yellow coat, I do think camel would be much more practical and wearable than mustard. Also, camel seems to be hugely ubiquitous this Fall. I wasn’t sure about this H&M coat at first but now, I am loving it more each day.

Fall Wish-list Item # 2: Colored Denim

Another item on my Fall wishlist is a pair of bold colored jeans. Since colored jeans are often bold and bright, it is really important to tone it down on top with neutral colors.

Fall Wish-list Item # 1: A Pleated Skirt

Fall officially begins tomorrow and I couldn’t be happier! I've already started writing down my Fall must-haves list. I’ll share with you ladies once it’s completed. My goal is to purchase only items from this list =) The first item on my Fall wish-list is a pleated skirt. I've seen many lovely bloggers rocking pleated skirts lately and been on the hunt for one. I found this skirt at Forever 21 last month and absolutely adore. This skirt fits me perfectly in every way. Nothing screams Fall like leopard print, right?
