The essential maternity pieces for spring/summer

Memorial Day weekend is almost here and some of the stores already started offering promotions and discounts. I've picked up a few maternity pieces here and there recently. I thought I’d share with you petite mamas-to-be so that you can take advantages of these sales as well.

These tees are very soft and comfy. The material is a bit thin but not translucent. I ordered a size XS for both and they’re a bit big for me at the moment. I am going to keep them because I know they will eventually fit towards the end of my pregnancy. I haven’t worn them yet but they probably will shrink a bit after washed. This is a great basic tee for everyday wear and you sure can't beat the price.

I bought this skirt in a maternity and a non-maternity version. Again, the maternity one is still big for me at the moment but the regular one fits me great. I wish I hadn’t bought the maternity one. I am just too lazy to mail it back so I am going to keep it as well. Both are made from light and stretchy knit fabric. They’re very comfortable and easy to wear. The length is just right for my 5’2 frame. This skirt should work into the third trimester and for that awkward postpartum phase where my regular clothes don't quite fit yet.

I also picked up these maternity denim shorts last week. You might have noticed all of the pieces I mentioned in this post are basics. I bought them for my upcoming beach vacation. Surprisingly, these shorts fit great with room to grow. Finding maternity shorts that don’t look maternity is hard. I don’t typically wear denim shorts but thought I should give these a try. I ordered a size 2 and they fit me great. The denim material is very comfortable and the belly panel is soft and flexible.

Hope you enjoy your holiday weekend! My husband and I don’t have any real plans. I am just looking forward to some relaxing, spending time with my family and doing nothing. If you find something good this weekend, please share =)

Happy Memorial Day weekend!
