Shades of grey

I'm in my third trimester and still haven't bought much in the way of maternity clothes overall. I really couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on maternity clothes especially when I only have less than 12 weeks to go. Some people think buying normal clothes a couple sizes larger when you’re pregnant is the way to go. Please don’t! Your frame doesn’t change much when you’re pregnant. Buying bigger sizes may fit around the belly but won’t look good everywhere else.

What I am wearing:
Dress: Space dye dress - c/o SugarLips - size XS (buy similar)
Necklace: Lia Sophia - old (buy similar)
Clutch: Banana Republic - old (buy similar)
Shoes: Steve Madden - old (buy similar)

Empire-waist tops, wrap dresses and long maxi skirts still work best for me at the moment. I actually really like the print of this dress. It’s modern, fresh, and sophisticated all at the same time. To style this dress, I decided to use different shades of grey to create a monochromatic look.

I am not much of a lipstick wearer. Although, I've been experimenting with different colors of lipstick lately. This past weekend, I wore red lipstick for the first time and can’t say I am a fan. I don’t think red lipstick suits me very well. I felt like a different person wearing it. Readers, do you have any go-to red lipstick shades? I’d love to hear =)

P.S: Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a chance to win an item of your choice from JewelIQ (ends this Sunday).

Enjoy the rest of your week!

You look fabulous, Sydney! From the pictures I can't even tell that you are 28 weeks! The baby bump is almost not visible! I get that bump normally, when I over-eat!! hahaha!

I've recently been rocking a brighter lip color as well. Unless I'm going out at night, I like to pat the color gently on, so it isn't as harsh, and your lips appear suffused with color as opposed of garish. It's worth a shot. :)

Gorgeous dress, I love the print! Pregnancy agrees with you. Are you by chance reading 50 Shades of Gray? I keep hearing so much about it lately, lol.

Sydney, how do you do it? Look so good while pregnant?!

I'm no help in the red lipstick department as I've begun experimenting with pink and coral myself. Red is still much too bold for a newbie like me :) Have you tried googling around for red lipstick on Asians? That's how I figured out which pink and corals could possibly work for me.

@R.L. I've heard lots about that book too (more positive than negative reviews) but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Hopefully I'll get to do that soon.

You look adorable! You can't even tell that you're pregnant :) As for the red lipstick, I have a pale complexion and tend to go with blue based red lipsticks to make my teeth appear more white. But right now I'm LOVING fuchsia lipstick/glosses! It's perfect for a bold summer look :)

Hi Sydney--I'm so glad I've discovered your blog (via Extra Petite). I love your style, and I'm extra excited because you're pregnant (so am I!). You look gorgeous, and I'm glad you're still blogging and putting fashion advice out there for other pregnant ladies (though my bump is a lot bigger!).

Seriously beautiful - the dress drapes so nicely and the red lipstick is such a nice touch! I couldn't help but look back at my blog around 28 weeks to see the state of my body - and OMG, huge difference LOL!

What a gorgeous dress and you look wonderful! I think the red lipstick looks great on you. I think it's just different from the pinks you're used to.

I use Tarte lip stain in True Blood. Yes it was made for the cast of True Blood and the color is so fun. Smells great too.

You look so great at 28 weeks! I was so bloated, so lucky you!!! Great tip on not just buying bigger "normal" clothes while pregnant. Empire waists and maxis are a great idea!

You look great Sydney! I love the print of the dress. Is your title a reference to the book? I heard it is supposed to be a good read but I haven't read it myself yet.
