DIY: A full circle skirt

Inspired by a few petite bloggers, learning about sewing is starting to interest me. I altered some of my skirts here and here but have never made anything from scratch. Last week, I decided to make my first piece of clothing – a full circle skirt. The concept is simple but it took me quite some time to finish the skirt (with the help of my dear mother). I am so excited about this skirt that I wore it out before finishing the hem =) The raw edge is not visible from afar. I will finish the hem and do a separate post to show you how to make this skirt if you’re interested.

What I am wearing:
Shirt:  Retro denim shirt c/o OASAP
Belt: H&M (buy similar - use code USLONGWEEKEND for 15% off)
Sunglasses: Selima for J.Crew (buy similar)
Pearl earrings: gifted by Jean (buy similar)

On an unrelated note, from now till Monday (1/21), you can take an additional 30% off your entire purchase at GAP with code "GAPDEAL". I placed a small order this morning. I ordered the striped cowlneck sweater in XSP, the boyfriend jeans in 00R and the flannel PJ set. All for $50 - not too shabby, right? As always, free shipping on all orders over $50. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Great job! Love the bold purple color. I also made circle skirt last month! Mine was a polka dot print.

You did a great job on the skirt, Syd! The colour is great too. : ) That's the same denim shirt I got from Oasap, but I studded the collar!

So talented! I've seen circle skirt DIY's but can't even attempt to do so. Love it and the belt.
