The midi

I've always been a great fan of midi skirts. However, being 5'2", midi length skirts and dresses are some what tricky to pull off. After seeing countless bloggers rocking the midi skirt, I wanted to try the trend myself. Luckily for me, this midi skirt from Chic Wish turned out to be perfect (also available in purple). I am wearing a size S in this post. The skirt measures 12" across the waist and the overall length = 25". When it comes to the midi length, it is all about balancing your body's proportion. For this outfit, I went for a casual look by pairing the skirt with a plain tee and a cropped denim jacket.

What I am wearing:
Skirt: Full A-line midi skirt
Tee: Forever 21 v-neck tee
Denim jacket: H&M - size 2
Sunglasses: Karen Walker Number One
Watch: Michael Kors runway
Shoes: Shoe Dazzle (similar - starts in size 4)

Material is 80% polyester and 20% cotton. Even though the skirt is made of heavy-weight fabric, it's also fully lined (which is always a bonus). For those who are new to Chic Wish, they are based in Hong Kong. I would say the quality is comparable to H&M. They offer free shipping world wide. My package arrived in 5 business days. This is my first ever midi skirt and I already know it won't be the last =) Hope you have a wonderful Sunday and a great week ahead!

You totally pull it off. The length looks great on you. Love the color and the necklace is a nice touch.

I agree that it's a tricky length to pull off- but I love how you did it! And I also love how you styled it in this dressed up (skirt + heels) meets dressed down (denim jacket + tee) vibe. So fun and keeps the skirt from looking prom-y or costumey. Great look. (And you definitely look taller than 5'2"! )

Super-cute outfit! I agree, it's all about balance for us petites (I'm 5'1"), and think the proportions are perfect with the high waistline, full hem and cropped jacket. Very nice.

That's an awesome skirt and color! You styled it perfectly. As another petite (I'm 5ft on a good day) I try to stay away from this length but I think your post is giving me some courage!

I'm not sure I can pull off this length because I have short legs, but it looks awesome on you. Love the color!

Gorgeous Sydney! I too have steered clear of midi skirts due to my height (I'm 5'2 as well) but they are so beautiful and ladylike that it's hard NOT to want one! You definitely look amazing in it :)

Oh man - I feel like there is an army of short bloggers that are taking over the midi skirt storm with a vengeance! I'm such a chicken (5'-2") to try this, but you really do long long and lean in this! It's really great, maybe one day I will take the plunge!! Thanks for linking up - always look forward to what you are going to share!

This looks fantastic on you! I think I could pull off the look too, but it would involve a bit of active styling.

Hey Sydney. I want to ask you about the site that you order this Midi skirt. Cuz I'm thinking about buying the striped skirt that seem to be in most blogger site. But I wasn't sure how reliable it is, because there no free return. My waist size is 26, which mean I'm a xs r small. But thinking about getting xs. So I want to hear your opinion. Thanks Kelli

@for3v3r16 Hi Kelli, my waist size is 25 and a size S was a bit too big for me. I wish an XS was available at the time. I think an XS would work better for you if you like your skirt to sit at your natural waist.
