The gray area between a kid and a teenager makes gift shopping a tough venture. It's tricky and challenging to find something that matches the child's maturity. At the beginning of this school year, we found out that the little one made it to the advanced academic programs. While I am super proud of her, the amount of homework that needs to be done every night is insane. She's been using my laptop to type and submit her papers to the school's website. However, the keyboard is just simply too big for her little fingers. For Christmas, we decided it's time to get her own little laptop. We've done extensive research and decided to go with the Toshiba 2-in-1 touchscreen laptop.
I was looking for a middle-level laptop that suitable for a 4th grader. She uses it mainly for school and light surfing. This little 2-in-1 laptop fits all the needs. The design not only feels sturdy but it's also easy to change from the laptop mode to the tablet mode. Tablet mode automatically disables the keyboard. I was originally looking at this HP laptop but it was just too cheap even for a kid. The husband was a fan of the Surface but I wasn't. At the end, both of us are happy with our choice. This device doesn't come with a full suite of Microsoft Office but you can purchase a single-license copy of Office 365 for $120.

I love having a touchscreen laptop! :)

Very neat! I've had my MacBook Pro for over five years and it's still going strong. My H, on the other hand, is wishy washy and keeps going back and forth!
