Closet Essentials: A Camel Skirt feat. Black Turtle Apparel

Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I am featuring another closet essential - a camel pencil skirt. Read previous closet essential posts here featuring a denim jacket and a striped dress

Every woman needs a tan/camel pencil skirt in her closet. It's probably one of the most timeless pieces of all time. A neutral bottom is a closet staple and can be worn year around. A few weeks ago,
the founder of Black Turtle Apparel reached out to me to introduce her collection. While this blog is no longer 100% dedicated to petite fashion, I am always more than happy to spread the love.

The collection is small but full of basics that can easily mix and match to create multiple looks. I am particular interested in this camel pencil skirt. Size 00 is currently sold out so I settled for a size 0. I would say the skirt runs pretty true to size. To achieve a more fitted look, I had the waist taken in and slimmed down 1" from each side. The skirt is made from a light-weight wool and works well during the coolers days of summer. Most of her pieces are made in the US with fabric from Japan.

To show you how versatile this skirt really is, I styled it 6 different ways. You can go from office appropriate to weekend ready by pairing the skirt with a different top. Since the color is neutral, it goes well with practically everything from floral to stripes to gingham. Not to mention the cute lining. When the temperature drops, create a chic look by pairing this skirt with a fitted black turtleneck or an oversized burgundy sweater. The possibilities are seriously endless.

What a great post! Love seeing all these options and my favorite is the casual option with the white flutter top and studded sandals. Probably because it's the most wearable for me! But I like how you showed options for a variety of events and lifestyles.

Clearly I need a camel skirt! I do actually have one, but it's corduroy and it just doesn't stay as crisp as I would like it. I love yours though along with each way you've styled it!

Apart from styling a camel coloured skirt (or anything really apart from a coat:p) with white I really wouldn't know how to style it, so it's really great to get some inspiration from these amazingly paired outfits :) x
