A classic work outfit
Sharing an outfit I wore to work last week. Who's remember these pants? They are 7 years old. I believe every petite blogger owned these trousers at one point. Mine is falling apart but I haven't found another pair that fits me that well. I really love this outfit. Nothing special or over the look but it's one of those classic looks that will never go out of style. Outfit details: Express shirt | LOFT trousers | Banana Republic pumps | Burberry trench | Cartier bracelet

10 classic items that will stand the test of time
If you've been following my blog for awhile, you know I don't spend much money on clothes. I am a huge believer that you can be stylish without spending a fortune. Target is actually one of my favorite places to shop for clothes. The only clothing category that I am willing to invest in is outerwear. Living in the Midwest, a quality piece of outerwear makes all the difference. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I don't mind investing in luxury accessories. The right accessory can make a simple outfit instantly feel elevated and expensive. However, I am only willing to invest in classic pieces. Below are 10 things that I wholeheartedly believe will stand the test of time. I hope to pass some of them down to my daughters one day.

Colorful sweater for spring
This is what I wore to an egg hunt at a local park with the little one this past weekend. I love how fun and springy this sweater is. The material is insanely soft and comfortable. It is a bit more cropped than I expected. To accommodate the length, I paired it with my high-waisted Levi's jeans. I love these jeans so much. They fit and feel amazing. I then finished off the look with my baby pink Hunter boots (I wasn't sure how muddy the park was going to be). I am not a pink type of girl but I love the fact that they compliment the look perfectly. Outfit details: Shein sweater | Levi's jeans *size 25* | Hunter boots | Cartier bracelet

Red Sweater :: Burberry Scarf
Happy Monday, ladies! Hope you all had a great weekend. The weather was so nice and we sure took full advantage of it. Today's post features this beautiful red sweater. I have the exact same one in white (wore here). Since the neckline is a bit low, I paired it with my trusty Burberry lightweight scarf. This scarf adds warmth without too much bulk. I also love the fact that it pulls all the colors together. Outfit details: Zaful sweater | Burberry scarf | Similar embroidered jeans here and here | Cartier braclet

2-way cardigan
Cardigan is one of the essential pieces in my wardrobe. It's the must have no matter what your style is. I've accumulated quite a few over the years. Some are classics, some are trendy. This fringe cardigan is a trendy one that I am happy to add to my closet. A cardigan is the perfect piece to wear this time of the year when it's not cold enough for a jacket and it's not warm enough to ditch the layers. A heavy knit cardigan is an alternative to a lightweight jacket. What's great about this cardigan is that you can wear it two ways - Wear it open like a cardigan over your favorite tee or button it up at the shoulders like a wrap sweater. How cool is that? Outfit details: Gamiss cardigan | Express white jeans | GAP tee *another closet staple* | Cartier bracelet | Similar hat | OTK boots

Affordable clothing pieces for spring break
A quick post today to show you a few things that I picked up recently for my teen daughter for the upcoming spring break. Whenever she needs new trendy pieces for the season, I can always count on those affordable shopping sites like Romwe. I placed many orders from Romwe in the past and their stuff does last until she won't be able to fit in them anymore. This time she picked out 3 items and I am very pleased with my entire order. I like this camo print tee so much that I had to borrow it for these photos. The trendy cutout detailing in the back is so cool and edgy. The second item is this swimsuit. How gorgeous, right? The color is so pretty and vibrant in real life. The quality is great considering the whole set is less than $12. Last but not least is this criss-cross tee, the pale pink color is just simply adorable on her. The best part? I spent roughly $20 on this entire order. Outfit details: Zella leggings *obsessed - all other options here* | Camo print tee | Nike racer sneakers | H&M jacket | Cobalt blue swimsuit | Baby pink tee | Wool cap | Sunglasses

Chunky Knit Sweater
I saw this sweater at Zara last Fall and loved it. However, my size wasn't available either in store or online. I kind of forgot about it until I saw this exact same one on Zaful. Knowing it's a copy, I placed an order with no expectation. Much to my surprise, the quality is absolutely amazing. There is no doubt in my mind that it came from the same manufacture as the Zara one. The knit is thick. It looks and feels really expensive. I am wearing a size S here and it's quite oversized on me (which I like). I rarely recommend anything but am 100% recommend this sweater. You can either wear it as is or give your figure a little shape by doing the front tuck. Pairing this sweater again with my trusted black denim. I can't stop wearing them. At this point, my cost-per-wear on these is down to pennies. I then finished off the look with my Topshop booties. I wasn't sure about them at first but they're growing on me. Definitely spice up a simple outfit. Outfit details: Zaful sweater *size S* | Topshop jeans | Topshop booties | Le Specs sunglasses | similar hat

Faux Fur Collarless Jacket
How fun is this jacket? It's one of those impractical items but so fun to wear. The jacket is lined but lightweight. It's not going to keep me warm but definitely will spark conversation everywhere I go =) To keep the rest of the look simple, I paired it with a plain tee (I probably have 10 of these in my closet) and my trusty dark skinny jeans. Outfit details: Gamiss jacket | Express jeans | Gap vintage tee | Quay sunglasses

Shades of burgundy
Burgundy is one of my favorite colors. It's not as loud as red and it's not as boring as black either. The color is just simple classy and timeless. To make the outfit appropriate for springtime, I paired 2 different shades of burgundy with my trusty white trousers. I have these trousers for a couple of years now and am always looking forward to bring them out in spring. I love the feminine details of this blouse (the ties and the ruffles). This blouse also looks great tucked into a pair of black high-waisted jeans for the weekend. Outfit details: Shein blouse *more options here* | WHBM trousers | WHBM trench *almost identical here* | BP sunglasses

White sweater for Spring
Sharing an outfit I wore yesterday. This white sweater is perfect for Spring. The color is so crisp and fresh. The knit material is not too heavy and not too thin. A lightweight sweater is a great option for layering both in Spring and Fall. I adore the cable detailing. I like it so much that I ordered the same sweater in red. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Outfit details: White sweater | similar jeans | OTK boots | Sunglasses | Chanel classic flap | Cabby hat

Affordable workout leggings review
Happy Friday, ladies! Hope your week is going well. Today, I am going to review 2 pair of workout leggings for you. One pair is a keeper and the other one I already sent back. Let's start with the one I love. I stopped by Forever 21 last week to look for some new sport bras. Now that I work out 5 days a week, I'd like to have some extra ones. If you haven't tried Forever 21 sports bras, the quality is actually pretty decent considering how inexpensive they are. While browsing in store, these leggings caught my attention. First of all, the color is absolutely stunning. A few things I keep in mind when shopping for workout clothes. # 1 - I will not buy black workout leggings. They're just too boring. I need something bright and cheerful to motivate me. # 2 - I will not buy printed workout leggings. To me, they look like something strictly for the gym. I wanted something that I can wear outside the gym as well. # 3 - I only buy either workout shorts or full-length leggings. Capri-length does not work for me. As soon as I tried these on, I knew they're coming home with me. These are seamless leggings made from a thick knit material (which I am obsessed with at the moment). They feel so nice and fit extremely well on my body shape. They're high-waisted, keep me supported in all the right places and at 26", the inseam is perfect on me. They're totally squat-proof. Because the color is darker, they hide sweat marks well. I love the ribbed panels along the sides. Wore these leggings to my Orange Theory class and a few girls came up and asked me where I got them from. They're only $14.95. I'd gladly pay double for them. If you're in the market for a new pair of workout leggings, get these. I promise you won't be disappointed. I am patiently waiting for the charcoal one to come back in stock so I can get them too. I also picked up this little cropped top while I was there. Nothing to rave about. I needed a little more coverage at the gym and it does the job. It's cute and functional. Outfit details: Forever 21 leggings *size S* | Forever 21 sports bra | Forever 21 cropped top | Nike sneakers | Stationary bike | Fitbit alta HR
