1. Take advantage of no sales tax: If I purchase this bag on Gucci.com, it would cost me $2118 ($1980 + 7% sales tax). If I purchase the exact same bag on Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, I do not have to pay 7% tax. I'd save roughly $140.
2. Take advantage of a 10% off your first purchase: Some retailers offer 10% off your first purchase. I know the discount code works on Gucci items at Farfetch and Bergdorf Goodman. I'd save about $200 using this method.
3. Take advantage of the foreign exchange: I use this method often depending on which item(s) I am looking to purchase. Oftentimes, you can change your region to other countries other than your current location. Since I am in the US, prices are usually cheaper in Euros or British pounds. You can do this on most international shopping sites like Net-a-Porter, Farfetch, Selfriges, Matches Fashion and more. Take my purchase as an example: This bag is selling on Gucci.com for $1980 plus 7% tax ($2118.60). The price on Selfriges is €1330 ($1625). One thing to keep in mind that you do have to pay customs duties ($147). When it's all been said and done, I paid $1800 for this bag. Buying it from the UK saved me $318! I hope you find this post helpful
