DIY Halloween Burrito Costume

I love Chipotle so this year, I decided to make my own burrito costume. I stayed up until 1:00 a.m. to finish it. I love making my own costume but it's very time consuming. Regardless, I was able to pull it off. Not my favorite creation so far so this will do. I won the "Best Individual Costume" contest at work today!!! Just in case you want to make the same costume next year, I hope you find this tutorial helpful.  

For the burrito: This part is very similar to the Starbucks costume we made last year

• 1" project foam: Cut to your desired size and hand-stitch 2 ends together (I used 1 yard)
• Metallic shiny silver fabric (I used 1.5 yard). Wrap the fabric around the tube using heat tape. This kind of tape is really sticky and has strong hold
• Sew 2 shoulder straps to keep the burrito from falling down

For the toppings:

• 2 yards of wool felt fabric in the color natural: Pretend like you're making a body pillow case. Twist the pillow case twice and sew 2 ends together. This doesn't have to be perfect. You can adjust the shape of it once you have it on
• Use green felt fabric sheet for lettuce and red felt for tomatoes
• Use brown yarn for beans
• Use crinkle cut paper for cheese
• Pile everything on top of the wrapper (I used Gorilla super glue)

There you have it! Are you dressing up tonight? Speaking of dressing up, I got this shark outfit for my puppy. Unfortunately, it was too small on him even though I got the biggest size. Regardless, he still looks so adorable in it. Hope you'll have a happy and safe Halloween!

Celine Dion Concert

I was so excited when Celine Dion announced her Courage world tour. My girlfriend and I went to her concert last night and it was absolutely amazing! I grew up listening to all of Celine Dion's songs. Being at the concert last night takes me right back down memory lane. Her voice is absolutely incredible and mesmerizing. You will be swept away by her voice and feel the entire emotion of the song from beginning to end. I teared up a little when she started singing "My heart will go on". There is a reason why she's a diva. The tickets weren't cheap. We were all the way up there in one of the back rows but they're worth every penny. Her performance was everything my heart wanted and more and I'm so thankful that I got the opportunity to see her perform right in my hometown. I recorded some of my favorite songs last night. The 90s slip/satin skirts are coming back big time. They're this season's biggest trend. I picked up this skirt from Zara a few months ago and have been enjoying it. Last month, since it was so hot outside, I paired the skirt with my beloved tank. As the temperatures get cooler, I paired the skirt with a thick sweater to keep me warm and cozy. Since the fabric tends to look formal, I like to pair the skirt with a pair of flat sandals or sneakers to balance out the look. How to save hundreds on designer items every time

Today, I am sharing with you a way to save hundreds on brand new designer items. This method works every time! The amount of savings varies depending on the item but you're guaranteed to save at least a few hundreds.

Step 1: Go to Net-A-Porter.com and change the currency from USD (United States) to GBP (United Kingdom) as seen above
Step 2: Search for the item(s) that you'd like to purchase and add to cart. I am using the Saint Laurent College medium bag as an example. I do really love this bag
Step 3: As you can see, the cost of this bag is £1540 ~ $1947. This exact bag is selling for $2450 in the US. You are saving over $500 right off the bat!
Step 4: But wait!..the magic happens when you click on "Proceed to purchase". The price goes down further to £1411. When all is said and done, you'll save $662 on this particular bag. Since the exchange rate varies, the average amount of savings depends on the exchange rate for the day the item was purchased.

How to save hundreds on designer items every time

Van Cleef & Arpels Vintage Alhambra Necklace

Sharing what my husband got me for our 10-year anniversary. I am so excited! I've been eyeing this Van Cleef & Arpels vintage Alhambra necklace for the longest time. I first tried it on when I was in Vegas. Then I tried it on again when I was in Chicago with my husband. I briefly talked about this necklace here. What I love about about the brand is that VCA pieces are very understated. If you know, you know. The Alhambra collection has launched over 50 years ago in 1968 but not many people know about it (at least in my circle of friends). I wanted a minimalist necklace for everyday wear and this beauty is absolutely perfect. If you're unfamiliar with VCA pieces, there are 3 sizes: the sweet Alhambra is the smallest size, vintage Alhambra is the midsize and the magic Alhambra which is the largest size. I wanted it in white gold. White gold comes with only 2 stone options: mother of pearl and turquoise (which is fine - I love pearls regardless). If you like yellow gold, this necklace is available in malachite (green), carnelian (red) and onyx (black). They're all precious stones. Eventually, I'd like to have the matching pair of earrings but that's going to be a future purchase. The necklace is understated and classy. I've been wearing it everyday to work and I love it.

Van Cleef & Arpels Vintage Alhambra Necklace

10 years!

Last weekend, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary! We rented a private room and shared our special day with family and close friends (some were camera shy). I wanted to share what I wore that night as well as some of my personal thoughts. Going into my second marriage, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared. Going back 10 years ago, I still remember clear as day. We were at the airport waiting to board (we had a destination wedding). My husband told me "please promise me that no matter what happens, you'll always try". I promised to never give up on us. There were a lot of unknowns going into the second marriage. We came from different experiences and backgrounds, different cultures, different mindsets. However, our mutual attraction is undeniable and we share a deep connection since day one. Fast forward 10 years later, lots of things have changed but our strong bonds remain the same. It's been 10 years since we've chosen to walk this life together. Love isn't a fairy tale. Our journey hasn't been easy but the challenges we have overcome have made our bond stronger and our connection grow deeper. To my wonderful husband, thank you for being my rock. Thank you for being kind and patient. Thank you for accepting me for who I was. Most of all, thank you for loving me like no one else ever has or ever will. You know I don't share my personal life on social media but I do want to share a toast that my husband made that night. It warmed my heart.
