Fall 2015 Lookbook with WHBM (Look # 2)

As mentioned here, today I am showing you another look that I put together for White House Black Market. While the first ensemble is appropriate for a corporate environment, the second one is definitely my go-to weekend outfit. The iconic bucket bag that was popular in the 70s remains of the hottest trends this Fall. While browsing the site, this bag caught my attention for several reasons. It's on trend, chic yet classic at the same time. Fall is the time for warm, rich colors and the color tan couldn't have been anymore perfect. It will warm up any given outfit. I love minimalist handbag designs without all the bells and whistles and this bag is wonderful. The shoulder strap is adjustable which is a plus for a shorty like myself. I will share my thoughts on these flared jeans next week. I then finish off the outfit with a wool hat which is a Fall must have. Hope you enjoy the outfit and stay tuned for one more look on Friday.

Fall 2015 Lookbook with WHBM (Look # 1)
I have had the privilege of working with White House Black Market for the past 2 years (2014, 2013). I am thrilled to partner with them again to share a few pieces from their latest collection. The Fall 2015 collection is to die for. From an attention-grabber like the leopard print to a classic palette of black, white and gray, the collection captures it all. This week, I will be showing you 3 distinct looks for Fall and hope you'll find some inspiration along the way.

The first look I put together is office-appropriate. This blouse is a dream. It fits me perfectly everywhere (even the sleeve length is right). I am wearing a size 00P and couldn't have asked for a better fit. The fabric is wrinkle-free and feels so comfortable against the skin. The bow adds a feminine and interesting touch to the traditional blouse. Since leopard print can be tricky in the workplace, I kept the rest of the look neutral. We all have one of those outfits that makes us feel like a million bucks, this is one of mine. Stay tuned for 2 more outfits later this week!

NYE with White House Black Market (Part II)

Here is another inspiration look I put together for White House Black Market. While the first look was more on the conservative side, this little sequin dress is so fun and absolutely perfect for NYE. To prevent this dress from looking shapeless, I added a belt to create the illusion of a waist. This is what I will be wearing tomorrow night to dinner. I wish you a Happy New Year, full of love, health, wealth and joy. If you're out celebrating NYE, please be safe =)

What I am wearing:
Dress: WHMB sequin dress - size 00 (50% off now)
Shoes: Express (this year's version)
Sunglasses: Dolce & Gabbana
Coat: J.Crew (this year's version)

NYE with White House Black Market (Part I)

2014 is almost over! Time sure flies, doesn't it? I teamed up with White House Black Market last year to show you a NYE look. This year, I am excited to partner with them again to bring you some holiday style and cheer. The first look features this gorgeous lace dress. As you probably know, I am an avid fan of lace. The dress fit like a glove but not too tight. The cut is extremely flattering to petite frames. I own the burgundy color in a size 00P and love it. When I saw this dress available in black, I had to get it. There is no big difference between petites and regular sizes except the length. The regular length is about 2 inches longer than the petite size. This dress comes with a matching belt but I decided to wear a different one to break up an all black outfit. This is a great classic look for just about any occasion. Psssst - It is now on sale for over 50% off =) The site indicates this dress is an online exclusive but I did get it in-store. Linking up with PMT's Style Challenge and Happiness at Mid-life.

What I am wearing:
Dress: WHBM lace dress in black (size 00R) or burgundy (size 00P)
Shoes: Banana Republic leopard pumps
Jacket: H&M *old* (similar here - 50% off)
Bracelet: David Yurman classic cable
Earrings: Chanel (buy preowned here)
Wallet: Chanel (buy preowned here and here)
Sunglasses: Dolce & Gabbana

Pre-Fall with WHMB: Leather Ponte Peplum Jacket
I haven't posted much this week due to a hectic on-call schedule. Thankfully it's over =) Today, I am teaming up with White House Black Market to put together a couple of pre-fall looks. First up is this laid back outfit featuring their leather ponte jacket. Similar to a LBD or a pair of black pumps, a leather jacket is a wardrobe staple that every woman should own. Finding a leather jacket that doesn't swallow a petite frame is a tough task. It took me years to find my very first leather jacket and I am thrilled to add another one to my closet. This jacket is absolutely beautiful in person. There is a reason that every single person who wrote a review on this jacket gave it a full 5-star recommendation. The leather feels incredibly soft to the touch. I love how WHBM put a unique spin on a traditional leather jacket with the peplum and feminine details.

What I am wearing:
Jacket: Leather ponte peplum jacket c/o WHMB - size XXS regular
Tee: Forever 21 (size up to a L for a slouchy look)
Jeans: GAP real straight jeans - size 25
Sunglasses: Karen Walker
Shoes: Express *old* (this year's version)
Let's talk about the fit. The fit is a really beautiful, structured, tailored look that sits slightly under my natural waist. I had the chance to try on both the regular size XXS and the petite XS and ended up going with the XXS regular. Measurements of a size XS Petite: Shoulder-to-shoulder = 14", length = 20" and sleeve length = 20 (they sit about 2 inches above my wrist). Measurements of a size XXS Regular: Shoulder-to-shoulder = 14.5", length = 20", sleeve length = 23" (this length is perfect for my arms). I sometimes find that the sleeves on petite clothing are too short for me and it was certainly case for this jacket. A big difference between the regular (XXS) and the petite (XS) seems to be in sleeve length. Other measurements are basically the same between the 2 sizes. I probably will pull the sleeves up most of the time but it's nice to know when I don't, the sleeves still hit me where I wanted them to be. The combination of leather and ponte really gives you comfort and a bit of stretch when layering.
