Goodies from SoCal

My brother and sister-in-law just came home from SoCal for their one-week vacation. I am so jealous! They had a great times visiting Disney and nearby beaches. Of course the food was awesome too. They brought home for me some goodies. That was so sweet of them!  First item they brought back for me was this dress. Click here to read more..

It’s so darn adorable. I wasn’t going to do a post about this dress but it’s kind of interesting because it is a “one size fits all” dress. They got this dress from one of the stores in Little Saigon Mall and it’s a "one size fits all". I guess Asian girls probably are the same size because it fits me nicely :) It has crochet detail at the neckline with elasticized back waist to help with the fit.

Front & Back Details

There was no name, no brand, no size whatsoever but it fits. I really like it. It’s one of the comfy summer dresses that I can run around with all day long. I am loving the dusty rose color.

Another neat gift they brought back for me was this little handy false lashes applicator. I started wearing falsies for my blog pictures. They do make my eyes pop but I always struggle applying strip lashes using just my fingers. This little tool turns out to be quite handy

To use, I put 2 strip of lashes on the stand. Once the lashes are secured, I use the applicator clip to pick them up. The lash applicator makes it so much easier and faster for me to apply strip lashes. Here I am wearing the falsies

I use M.O.D.E.L 21 false lashes and think that they do look very natural on me. They were also a gift from my sister-in-law. I have heard positive reviews on this brand. There are many types of false eyelashes that are available from M.O.D.E.L 21 website. Be sure to check them out!

There are few stores online carry this little neat tool. Evidently Sephora is having one too. There are also some inexpensive versions found on Google but I am sure it will do the job. Click on pictures to shop

Have you try this lash applicator before?

The dress is beautiful :). I purchased two dresses (one size fits all) while I was visiting NY Chinatown last year. Both are made of chiffon, very feminine and with pretty details :).

I've been wanting to try fake eye lashes for a while now. The only thing that's holding me back is that I don't like to use eye liner. I heard that I need to use eye liner if I want to put on fake eye lashes.

@PetiteGorgeous: You don't have to use eyeliner if you don't want to. The plastic-y strips will give you the look as you would have eyeliner on. I had Lasik done few months ago so I am very cautious in term of what goes around my eyes. Give false lashes a try. It's fun. I haven't worn them out in public yet. They are just for pictures :)

that's a really pretty color. and I like the front part of the dress too! yeah it's funny how some average income people would spend $4000 on a purse, come and think about it my living room + bedroom furnitures come out to be less than $4000 LOL

The crochet details on your dress is so cute! First glance it doesn't look like a nameless brand at all.

As for the eyeliner comments, I like wearing eyeliner with falsies since it kinda helps "conceal" the knots that are at the band area.

Your dress is pretty..I love the details in the front. I ordered those "one size fits all" Asian clothes from a wholesaler in Hong Kong and they fit just fine. I love the designs but fabrics are so sheer and of low quality. It is something I would rather shop in person so I can see the quality.

I own that sephora kit and a pair of Makeup Forever false lashes (which are now in an odd shape). Even with a tool, I still fail on putting on falsies...I am a true sucker. I may be good at it one day, I should get some cheap falsies for practicing purpose.

That dress fits you great! You lucked out twice! First, your family picked out a style and color that you love, and second, the "one size fits all" dress actually fit! I have such bad luck wit those kinds of sizes.

You're so lucky the one-size-fits-all dress fits you! My relatives (and friends) have learned never to buy clothes as gifts for me because nothing ever fits!

Hi Sydney! The dress looks GREAT on you! The ELF (Eyes Lips Face) lash kit is only 3.00 and comes with that applicator and works really well! :)

That dress is so pretty! I love the sandals and necklace that you paired it with!

I am seeing a lot of that rose color around. I don't think straight pink looks good on me, but I want to try the dusty rose color!

The dress is so pretty on you! I think it's one of those things that look only "ok" on the hanger but on the right person it looks terrific!

Have a great day!

Huge fan of false lashes here. (though i def dont wear them everyday) I also use Model 21. I live in Socal, so it's very easy for me to get them. I'm so glad your family bought you them b/c I swear by them. From my comment on PAG's review of ELF products, you can order Model 21 on Amazon too for $10 for those that don't live near cheap asian beauty stores.

the applicators do not work for me. I prefer to use my fingers & gently tap the lashes as close to the lash line as possible, starting from the inner corner of the eye moving outwards. much more work, so if the applicator works for you, you'll save lots more time!!!

@Syndey at PetiteGorgeous: if you invest in lashgrip "dark" glue, instead of clear, you wont need to use eyeliner b/c it dries blackest black.
