Hermes lipsticks :: Are they worth it?

HermesLipstickReview_SydneysFashionDiary
Happy Sunday, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. We took the boat out for the first time this year and spent a few hours on the lake yesterday evening. It was wonderful. Today, I have a lipstick review for you. If you're a regular reader, you know I am not a beauty junkie. I use the same beauty products for years and rarely switch up. However, if there is one beauty product that I am willing to try, it's lip products. On March 4th, Hermes released lipstick with 24 shades in matte and satin finishes. I purchased the Rouge Hermès Satin Lipstick in Rose Encens a couple of weeks ago. I am here today to share my thoughts just in case you're curious.

My experience with BBL treatment

Taking a break from shopping to share a skincare procedure that I got done recently. I had 3 BBL treatments over the course of the last 3 months and I wanted to share my experience with you just in case you're interested.

What's BBL?
BBL stands for BroadBand Light. BBL technology uses the power of intense pulsed light to treat a range of skin concerns, including acne, age spots, sun spots, fine lines and wrinkles and uneven texture. BBL treatment is not a laser treatment. Laser treatments are a single wavelength, while BBL uses a broad spectrum of light that we can filter several different ways to treat different conditions.

My skin history:
Fortunately, I haven't experienced any major skin issues. No eczema, acne or any types of skin allergy reactions. I'm a very low maintenance kind of girl when it comes to skincare. Moisturizer and sunscreen are the 2 skincare products that I put on my face most days. I am just about as low-maintenance as it gets when it comes to makeup. However, I have a lot of freckles on my cheeks. They are genetic. I inherited them from my Dad. Along with freckles, sun spots and age spots are accumulated as I get older (you can clearly see in the footage). In 2012, I had 2 laser treatments to treat dark spots on my face. However, the recovery took almost 3 weeks after each treatment.

Black Friday 2020 :: Beauty Brands

Dedicated this post to share some amazing deals from my favorite beauty brands. Black Friday deals are so good this year. Take advantage and stock up now if you're interested. I sure will do the same. All Black Friday posts I've done so far this year are here.
BlackFridaySale2020_SydneysFashionDiary
Biossance: 30% off sitewide. They are a clean skincare brand which I am a fan. I've been using the Squalane & Probiotic Gel Mosturizer for years and I have nothing but good things to say about it. It is lightweight but provides enough moisture for my skin. Biossance sources their Squalane from sugar cane. Squalane oil has powerful anti-aging properties and will help the skin age gracefully. If you're looking into trying out their products, I would suggest one of their starter sets. With the promotion, prices are incredible for high quality products that are safe and healthy for your skin.
BlackFridaySale2020_SydneysFashionDiary
Charlotte Tilbury: Up to 45% off. I am not a makeup junkie so I don't normally spend $$ on expensive makeup products. However, Charlotte Tilbury products are an exception. I repurchased their iconic lipliner and lipstick twice if that tells you anything. They products are pricey so I haven't tried anything else other than their lip products. With the sale, it gives me a good excuse to try other products. I am thinking about getting one of makeup kits.
BlackFridaySale2020_SydneysFashionDiary (1)
IT Cosmetics: 30% off sitewide. Another brand that I love. I have gone through many tubes of their CC+ cream. Repurchased their hydrating moisturizer a couple of times. This anti-aging skincare set is now only $27.50 ($91.50 value). If you're looking for a beauty brand that carries all things beauty and skincare, I highly recommend IT Cosmetics. I am going to stock up on their iconic CC cream.
BlackFridaySale2020_SydneysFashionDiary (2)
Lancome: 50% off a large selection of beauty and skin care products. My holy grail mascara is 50% and their iconic Advance Genifique is also on major sale (my Mom swears by this product). Also, I get this holiday beauty box for my mother in law every single year. It's on $72 (a $555 value). It's a great value for your money.
BlackFridaySale2020_SydneysFashionDiary (3)
Beauty Bio: 30% off sitewide. This is a new brand to me. The reason I know about their annual sale because I've been eyeing their popular at home microneedling tool for Christmas. I've gone to a couple of professional microneedling appointments and the cost is $200 per appointment. Since this at-home tool costs a fraction of the price it costs to visit the doctor's office, I thought I would give it a try (especially after reading lots of positive experiences from real people).

My first time getting Botox

Botox is probably the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment these days. I've been thinking about getting Botox for awhile. In fact, I wanted to schedule an appointment on my 40th birthday. That didn't happen due to a schedule conflict. I simply didn't care enough to reschedule. It wasn't a high priority. I'll be 42 in September and I have never had any facial injections prior to this. Not that I need to explain myself because I definitely don't. I firmly believe that less is more when it comes to getting injectables. I have nothing against plastic surgery in general. You do what makes you happy. Personally, I would never go overboard when it comes to this kind of stuff. I thought long and hard before giving it a go. I asked you on IG if there is anything that you'd like to know about Botox and got a few questions. Today, I am sharing my first experience with Botox with you. I filmed a short clip with my surgeon. Check it out if you're interested.

Why did I decide to do it? I decided to try it out of curiosity. I don't have static wrinkles. I can only see them when I smile, squint, frown or make other expressions. The skin begins to lose volume between the ages of 30-40. If you're thinking about getting Botox, it's best to begin treatments before the lines have a chance to become deeply imprinted.

Who are the best candidates for Botox? Like mentioned above, people with no static wrinkles would be the ideal candidates for Botox. If you have established lines/wrinkles, Botox will not help with those. You would need dermal fillers to fill static wrinkles.

How many units did I get? The right amount of Botox is different for everyone. The exact number of units is customized for each person. I asked my surgeon to go conservative and she recommended 30 units. I fetl like it was the right amount. The wrinkles are completely gone but I am still able to make normal facial expressions. When in doubt, get less. You can always go back for touch-ups.
BotoxBeforeAfter_SydneysFashionDiary
When did I see results? I noticed a visible difference in the appearance of wrinkles 3 days after the treatment. A week later, I can barely frown no matter how hard I try =) My forehead is so smooth and I look well-rested and refreshed. I look like I had a really good night sleep. The results were amazing!

What does it feel like? My face felt tighter and I have less control over it. It wasn't uncomfortable. It just felt different. After a few days, I didn't even notice it anymore. It felt normal.

Was it painful? I have a high pain tolerance and it was kind of painful for me (especially between the eyebrows). I would rate the pain level as an 8 on a scale from 1-10. The good thing is that it didn't last very long. The entire treatment took less than 10 minutes.

Do I think it's worth it? Yes, 100%. If you have the $$ and want to treat yourself, it's 100% worth it. A Botox treatment will last 3-4 months and honestly, the cost isn't that bad.

Will I keep up with it? I am not sure yet. I'll see how I feel after 4 months. If I decide to keep up with it, it won't be forever. Everyone ages. Sorry, you can't stop aging. At some point, I just have to embrace it. Until then, I will enjoy my wrinkle-free forehead (lol!). I hope you find this helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Emile Cordon :: Luxury Lip Care

EmileCordonLipbalm_SydneysFashionDiary
I'll be the first one to admit that I don't always take good care of my lips. They're often dry and can get much worse during winter months. A friend has introduced me to Emile Cordon miracle lip balms and I am hooked. This is probably one of the most luxurious lip balms that I've ever experienced. First, can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the packaging is? Each pot's scent is formulated by a New York perfume and they smell divine. I couldn't pick my favorite (I have Powdered Rose, Manhattan Flair *limited edition* and Mandarin Garden). I love them all! It was a pleasant surprise to know that Emile Cordon lip products do not contain Petrolatum. Key ingredients are wax, Castor oil, Almond oil and Vitamin E. They go on smooth as silk and smells likes like heaven. The texture is moisturizing without being greasy. It absorbs quickly and feels as if you do not have anything on the lips. I apply the balm every morning and night and I have noticed a difference in just 3 days. My lips remain hydrated throughout the day. I am not going to lie, they're expensive but a little goes a long way The best part? Each pot comes with an applicator for sanitizing purposes. It's definitely not a must have but if you are someone who is appreciate a little luxury every now and then, give these lip balms a try. I promise you won't regret it.

Sephora VIB Sale :: Recommendations

As you might already know, the Sephora Spring Bonus Event starts tomorrow for all Rouge members. Everything you need to know about this highly anticipated event is here. I am not a makeup junkie but I can definitely recommend a few things if you're interested in trying them out. Some of them are my tried and true products that I've been using for year. Some of them are really great products that I discovered recently.
RecommendationsSephoraVIBSale_SydneysFashionDiary

- IT Cosmetics confidence in a cream - This is a new moisturizer that I picked up last December. I've been using it for over 4 months now and am really impressed with it. This moisturizer makes my skin feel so soft and hydrated. It's a thick cream but absorbs quickly and does not leave my skin greasy. I can't recommend it enough.
Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 - This is another new product that I've been trying. If you're not familiar with Olaplex, it's a 3-step system to treat damaged hair. The first 2 steps can only be done in-salon. The No. 3 Hair Perfector is the last step that you can do at home. It simply serves as a deep moisturizing treatment to helps rebuild damaged hair. I use it once a week and have seen great improvement to my hair.
Jo Malone fragrance - Sephora now carries Jo Malone fragrance and I couldn't be happier. Their fragrances never go on sale. 2 of my favorite scents are peony & blush suede and orange blossom
- Becca highlighter in champagne pop - This is the only highlighter I keep in my makeup drawers. A little bit goes a long way. It has a really smooth consistency with excellent color pay off. Champagne pop gives my skin a stubble nature glow.
- Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum - This is one of my tried and true items. I've been using this serum every night for the past 3 years. I will keep repurchasing this product
- Tatcha Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 - Another beauty must have product for me. This serves as my everyday SPF and primer
- Tatcha cleansing oil: Another product that I use every night to take off my makeup. It removes everything including waterproof mascara. It's a staple product in my beauty regiment.

My microblading experience

It's been almost 3 months since I got my eyebrows microbladed so I thought now is a good time to share my experience.

History: I got my eyebrows tattooed roughly 10 years ago (the old technique). They were completely faded prior to the treatment (as seen below). I had to fill in my brows every single day. It can be a daunting task. I knew I wanted to give microbladding a try but couldn't find someone that I am comfortable enough near where I live. A few months prior to my trip to FL, I did some research and finally settled on South Florida Microblading by Trish. You can see her amazing work here. Our trip was jam packed with activities and the only time I can get my brows done was at 7:00 p.m on Sunday 07.16. We texted back and forth and she was very accommodating. I got to her place around 7:00 p.m and 2.5 hours later, I walked out with my new brows.
Before

What is microblading? Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup. A tiny blade is used to create hair-like feather strokes to mimic hairs.
How much did it cost? Microblading can run anywhere between $400 - $800 (for both the initial procedure and touch-up) depending on where you go. Trish charges $550. However since I knew I won't be able to go back to her for the touch up appointment, she only charged me $380 for the first appointment. I eventually found someone locally to do the touch-up and her price is $400 for both appointments.
Pre-care instructions:
- Do not pick/tweeze/wax one week before the procedure
- Do not tan or have any type of facial peel 2 weeks prior
- Do not have Botox 3 weeks prior
- To avoid bleeding, do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen before the procedure (this thins the blood)
Does it hurt? No it doesn't but it stings really bad. I did not have any numbing cream (more info below). It feels like a paper cut but 100 times worse.
How long does it take? My initial appointment lasted 2.5 hours from start to finish. Trish took the first hour working on the drawing. The actual microblading procedure took about an hour as well.
The initial appointment: I had a few pictures on my phone but honestly, I just let her do her thing. After seeing her amazing work, I trust she knows what she's doing. The pigment: I believe we went with Phibrows "brown 2" mixed with one drop of Phibrows "brown 3". Trish is a certified Phibrows artist. Phibrows is probably one of the world's leading experts in the field of permanent makeup and microblading. They have training classes all over the world. I felt very confident that I made the right choice. She spent the 1st hour taking before pictures, drawing, perfecting every little detail and making sure we were happy 100% happy with the shape. Before starting the actual microblading process, she told me she prefers not to use numbing cream if I can tolerate the pain for the first 30 minutes. The reason is that numbing cream numbs your skin and it's harder to create natural-looking strokes. I agreed to go through with the process without numbing cream. After the first pass, she put a topical numbing cream on my brows and it helped tremendously.

Aftercare: After the procedure, she gave me some ointment along with aftercare instructions. The most difficult part of the healing process was avoid getting my brows wet for 10 days. I was sweating like a pig the next day at Disney (July is no joke in Florida). I brought a small towel with me to dap my brows throughout the day. Other than that, I did follow the instructions, applied ointment religiously and did not get my brows get for 10 days straight. After 5 days, the scabs started to peel off. This is when some of the "hair strokes" disappeared (see below)
MicrobladingExperience_SydneysFashionDiary

Touch-up appointment: After 5 weeks, luckily, 80% of the pigment has retained but I did have some patchy spots. I called a couple of places and ultimately, booked my touch up appointment with Kelly @ Enduring Enhancements. She used the same pigments to fill those patches. My touch up appointment took roughly 30 minutes and she only charged me $50. I filmed a short clip to show you a closer look at my brows after 5 weeks.

Is microblading worth it? It really depends on your expectations and what you're trying to accomplish. For me, I basically had no brows prior to the procedure and spent 10 minutes every single day doing my brows. Now, I don't have to do anything with them on a regular basis. However, when I go out and wear more make up, I use this powder to touch them up. Regardless, they take me less than 2 minutes. If you expect those fine, crisp hair strokes to stay then you're in for a disappointment. They will fade and blend together over time. Depends on your skin type, the average length that brows last ranges from 12 to 18 months. Microblading delivered what I was looking for and am happy with the results. I hope you find this post helpful. If you have any questions regarding microblading in general, feel free to leave them below. If I have enough questions, Kelly said she will do a Q&A post.

Private Label Extensions 3D mink lashes

Private Label Extensions

Let's get straight to the point - I love false eyelashes. As a typical Asian, I am not blessed with long and luscious eyelashes. I had eyelash extensions in the past but wasn't a fan. They were very uncomfortable. To me, false eyelashes are the way to go. A pair of false lashes can instantly make your eyes appear bigger and brighter. I am always on the lookout for new products to try and excited to have the opportunity to work with Private Label Extensions. They were kind enough to let me pick out 2 pairs to try, I chose the New York and the Vegas. These false eyelashes are 100% mink and handcrafted. Every pair of Private Label Extensions lashes comes with an acrylic case for easy storage. I wore the New York to Disney World last week and they were so comfortable all day long (even in 90-degree FL heat and I was sweating like a pig). When we got back to the hotel, I took my lashes off and wrapped them in a piece of tissue. The next day, I cleaned out my bag and accidentally threw them out without realizing my lashes were in there. I am so sad. Between the 2, the New York is my favorite. They look so natural on. The Vegas is suitable for a night out. Mink lashes are more feathery looking and lighter in general. The band on these lashes are so thin, it's almost invisible when on. I notice Private Label Extensions mink lashes are very affordable compared to other brands on the market. Shop their entire 3D mink thinline lashes here.

Esqido Lashes From Day To Night

EsqidoLashes_SydneysFashionDiary

Just a quick post today to show you some new lash styles from Esqido. As you may or may not know I am a fan of false eyelashes. I wear very minimal makeup so false eyelashes are the quickest and easiest way to open up my eyes. I've been a long time fan of Esqido eyelashes and first talked about their lashes here. I also wrote a quick guide on how to apply false lashes here. Esqido was kind enough to send me a few new pairs to play with so I wanted to show you how they look on me. I apply the Esqido eyelash glue to all my lashes.

Favorites of the year :: 2015

FavoritesOf2015_SydneysFashionDiary

I saw the "Favorites of the year" tag floating around YT and thought it'd be fun to do one. I did modify some of the questions to make it more "fashion-appropriate". Please feel free to share your favorites of the year in the comment section below:

FavoritesOfTheYear_SydneysFashionDiary

1. Favorite song - Set fire to the rain by Adele
2. Favorite drink - Peppermint mocha with 3 pumps of each from Starbucks - I drink this year-round
3. Favorite trip - Our trip to Europe earlier last year. Really do wish we could stay longer.
4. Favorite new product - Becca skin perfector in champagne pop. This year, I want to experiment with new (to me) make up products. This is the first highlighter I've ever purchased and am in love. It gives the most beautiful glow without looking clownish!
5. Favorite lipstick - Anastasia Beverly Hills in Pure Hollywood - my everyday lipstick (swatch here)
6. Favorite fragrance - Elizabeth & James Nirvana White - I bought the rollerball so I could test it out and ended up loving it. The scent is captivating, fresh and clean. I will purchase a full size bottle when my rollerball runs out.
7. Favorite bag - Chanel wallet on chain - This was one of my best purchases thus far
8. Favorite piece of clothing - Ann Taylor white shirt dress: I wore it countless times during the summer/fall.
9. Favorite accessory - Quay sunglasses: You know I wear these sunglasses to death.
10. Favorite memory - My husband came home 3 hours earlier than expected from a business trip to surprise me and the girls. It might not seem like a big deal to some but for someone who's away from home a lot, this was definitely one of my favorite memories from last year.

5 must-have liquid lipsticks

As promised to cover a variety of topics this year, today I am sharing some of my favorite liquid lipsticks. Liquid lipsticks are all the rage and every brand is coming out with their own versions. Below are 5 liquid lipsticks that I have personally tried and love:

BestOfLiquidLipsticks_SydneysFashionDiary

Colourpop Ultra Matte: They are very affordable at $6 each. The color payoff is really great but can be a tad on the drying side. I usually add a layer of lip balm underneath and it's not an issue. The color lasts for 4-5 hours.

Anastasia Beverly Hills (a Macy's exclusive): These lipsticks apply so easily and dry to a lovely matte finish. The color "Pure Hollywood" is my every day lipstick. They are somewhat moisturizing and do not dry out the lips.

Lime Crime Velvetines: The pigmentation is insane. One swipe is all you need. I got the color "Cashmere" which is a nude shade with grey undertones - very popular lately. I love that it's slightly edgier than your typical nude lipstick.

Stila Stay-all day: True to its name, these Stila liquid lipsticks stay all day. It does take about 5 minutes to dry down completely matte. Once it dries, it does not budge even after eating. I absolutely love the color "Beso". It's a true red with just a tiny hint of blue. I wear it with the Milani "02 True Red" lip liner and they go perfectly well together.

Too Faced Melted: The concept is the same but they're not your typical liquid lipsticks. They dry down into a matte finish but do not completely set. Because of that, these lipsticks are lightweight and feel comfortable on the lips. The pigmentation is great but they do not last all day (probably 2-3 hours). If you are looking for a liquid lipstick with a semi-matte finish, you would like these.

5 Fall Fashion and Beauty Trends For $25 Or Less

1. Vampy lips: Dark lip instantly reminds me of cooler weather. It's the most affordable way to get in the Fall mood. My favorite combo is the Wet N Wild in Cherry Bomb (only $1.99) and the NYX lip pencil in Plum ($3.49)

AffordableFallLipstick_SydneysFashionDiary

2. A plaid scarf: Blanket scarves remain one of the biggest Fall trends. There are so many affordable versions out there. I just got this one last week and am loving it. The best part? It's less than $13

BlanketScarf_SydneysFashionDiary

3. Nail polishes: Some of my favorite nail polishes for Fall are: OPI Roll Down The Window (a true army green), OPI Malaga Wine (a beautiful rich wine color), Maybelline Home Sweet Chrome (a metallic blue shimmer)

Scentbird: 30-Day Supply Of A Designer Fragrance For Free

30DaySupplyOfADesignerFragrance ForFree_SydneysFashionDiary

I am not really into fragrances in general. My husband bought me a few different perfumes throughout the years and I barely used them. Even though I like to try a new fragrance once in awhile, it's hard for me to commit to buying a full-szie bottle. If you are like me, Scentbird is the answer for you. For only $14.95 a month, you can get access to a 30-day supply of hundreds of top designer fragrances including Prada, Burberry and Chloe delivered to your door. Fragrance is of course something very personal and that's why Scentbird helps you find your dream scent match by searching by brand, mood, occasion or personality. I decided to try the Prada Candy and so far, I really like it. It smells fresh, clean and not over powering. You can get your own 30-day supply for FREE here.

Best of drugstore beauty products

I feel like drugstore brands have really stepped up their game over the past 2 years. I recently made a switch and now all my makeup items are from drugstore brands. I'd rather invest in good skincare products. I wholeheartedly recommend these affordable beauty products to anyone. They will for sure knock your socks off.

AmazingDrugstoreBeautyProducts_SydneysFashionDiary

1. Essence lip liner in satin mauve (on me) and in the nude: These lip liners are everything. They're creamy, so pigmented and do not feel dry on my lips. "In the nude" is my everyday shade. If you want to enhance the natural color of your lips, give this lip liner a try. You won't be disappointed.

2. I picked up this Maybelline eye studio brow define and fill duo in dark brown a few weeks ago and am in love. If you're a fan of the Anatasia brow wiz, you'll like this. The pencil is thin enough to define your brow with precision and the powder side fills in all the gaps for a natural looking brow (currently buy one get one at 50%)

3. Another new beauty product that I picked up recently is this L'Oreal double extend mascara. It has everything you want for a mascara (length, volume, no smudge, no flaking). I apply the primer first then immediately apply the mascara. It certainly made a difference in the way my lashes look.

4. Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation in 210: This is my 2nd tube and I can't get enough of it. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to foundation is that it has to keep my face matte all day and this foundation passed the test. It feels so light on my face and the matte results are amazing. It helps keeping my face matte for at least 6 hours if not longer. I ran out a few weeks ago and decided to use up my MUFE Mat Velvet (40). Didn't like it as much and that says a lot!

5. NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny: This is an oldie but a goodie. For under $4, this is an amazing matte bronzer. I use this to slightly contour my face and it gives the most natural, sun kissed glow (especially if you have yellow or warm undertones). I got this bronzer at least 2 years ago and have been using it everyday. Best $4 I've ever spent!

False Eyelashes 101 featuring Esqido Mink Lashes

I used to feel very intimidated by false eyelashes. I didn't start wearing falsies until a couple years ago. I am certainly not blessed in the eyelash department so false lashes are the simplest way to give noticeable volume, length and make my eyes pop. The Ardell demi-wispies was my favorite eyelashes. I used to buy this pack and it lasted me 3 months. Esqido reached out a few months ago and offered me a few pairs of their mink lashes to try. I am hooked! One thing that I love about mink lashes is that they're extremely comfortable to wear. I have no problem wearing them all day. They are very natural looking, light weight and fluffy.

EsqidoLashes_SydneysFashionDiary
For those who are new to false eyelashes, below is how I wear and take care of my falsies:

Step 1: Trim your lashes - To get the proper fit, hold the lash strip against your upper lash line. Start about a 1/4" from the inner corner of your eyes. Trim any excess off the outer corner with small scissors. Do not cut from the inner corner.

Step 2: Apply the glue - Since these are mink lashes, curl your lashes and apply one coat of mascara before applying the falsies. It's highly recommended that you do not apply mascara to the actual mink fur. Esqido recently came out with a new latex-free lash glue (specially formulated for mink lashes) and it's amazing! My false lashes stay on all day with absolutely no lifting. Love the rose gold packaging!

Blogmas Day 10: Urban Decay Naked On The Run

NakedOnTheRun_SydneysFashionDiary

I picked up this brand-new palette from Urban Decay last weekend and wanted to quickly share it with you guys. I will be on the road quite a bit this holiday season and this set is perfect when I want to travel light. Since I am not a makeup junkie, this palette is pretty much ALL I need. The packaging is a little bulky but adorable. The large mirror is definitely a bonus. I haven't had time to play with it yet but everything did swatch beautifully in-store. If you're looking for a great travel companion, I highly recommend you give this palette a try. Since it's a limited edition, you better act quick =) More details about this set here.

Get It or Forget It: CG Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation

To add more variety to this blog, I am starting a new series called "Get It or Forget It" to share my thoughts on non-fashion related items. First up is the Cover Girl Outlast Foundation. This is my 2nd bottle and I absolutely love it! For the most part, I am a drugstore makeup kind of girl. I think a lot of drugstore cosmetic companies stepping up their game lately. If you do your research, you'll find some amazing products. I used the entire bottle of this foundation and I am about 1/3 way done with my second bottle. This particular foundation keeps my face matte all day. I put on my makeup around 7:00am and my face stays matte until 3:00pm without any touch-up. This foundation feels lightweight on my face even though it is a medium coverage that can easily be built up into full coverage. It also contains SPF 20 which is always a plus. I am currently wearing shade #840 and it suits my skin tone well. I don't wear foundation everyday but on days that I need to, this is what I will reach for. Verdict: Get it =)

Recent beauty favorites

Today, I wanted to share a few beauty items that I've been loving lately.

1.  Healthy Sexy Hair soy renewal beach spray
2. Almay longwear & waterproof eye makeup remover
3. Maybelline the rocket volum' express mascara
4. Anatasia brow wiz pencil in brunette/dark brown
5. NYX butter gloss in Creme Brulee and Vanilla Cream Pie

1. I used to shower in the mornings but my routine has changed recently. Since I run 3 times a week at night (after the kids go to bed), I would have to shower after my run. Because I shower at night, my hair is flat and loses its volume in the morning. Dry shampoo just doesn't cut it for me. I picked up this Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray last month and have been loving it. It creates volume and texture in minutes. I typically spray a generous amount at the roots, blow dry then style as usual. I love it and highly recommend it.

2. I was a huge fan of the Lancome Bi-Facial eye makeup remover for years but it is very pricey. I've been on the look out for a cheaper alternative and found the Almay version works just as well. It takes off my waterproof mascara with just a few swipes.

3. Speaking of mascara, this Maybelline The Rocket mascara is my new favorite that I picked up recently (also comes with the waterproof version). I really enjoy this as my everyday mascara. It gives great volume with a good amount of lengthening.

4. Let me start by saying I absolutely love this Anatasia Brow Wiz pencil. It's amazing! I heard so many You Tubers raving about it. I was hesitant to try at first because I know I will get hooked on. Sure enough! I am a pencil kind of girl when it comes to eyebrows. This pencil helps me create the perfect and natural-looking brows every time. I know it's pricey but well worth the price. If you're interested in seeing my eyebrow routine, just let me know in the comment section.

5. I am a lipstick girl through and through. I don't like the sticky feeling. One of my girlfriends who is a lip junkie introduced me to the NYX Butter Gloss line and I am hooked. They're very pigmented and super creamy. They feel great on the lips, not sticky and do not dry out my lips.
