What to wear when you’re expecting (Part II): Maxi dresses

Congratulations to Saimaeve for winning the lovely dress from OASAP. Please email me your shipping info. My family and I are taking a vacation at the moment but I will get back with you as soon as I can. Thank you, everyone for giving your feedback on the new site as well as submitting your entries for the giveaway. I really appreciate it! Now, onto today's post...

In part I, I was talking about blazers were my favorite thing to wear to work during the 1st and 2nd trimester. When it comes to casual wear for weekends, I literally live in dresses. I love wearing shorts during summer but they just simply don’t work when you’re expecting.

Maxi dresses are a great choice for those hot months. I personally think maxi dresses are flattering for every shape. For pregnant ladies, they flow over a baby bump with ease. At 24 weeks, I am still wearing the same dress that I've worn last year comfortably. I don't like being pregnant in the summer but I do appreciate the fact that I can wear dresses all summer long and still feel comfortable.

What I am wearing:
Outfit # 1: Dress: c/o Apart Style (buy similar) | Jacket: H&M (buy similar) | Necklace: c/o Kate and Soo
Outfit # 2: Dress: c/o Club Couture (buy similar) | Sunglasses: Kate Spade Gayla | Sandals: Steve Madden (buy similar)

Pregnancy is a time you’ll always remember (for better or worse), and having your body change so much can be a daunting experience. Maxi dresses are not only stylish, flattering and ultra-comfortable throughout your pregnancy but also can be worn post-pregnancy. Talking about getting the most out of your wardrobe, right? =)

See you in a week!
Sydney

I totally agree! Maxi dresses will take you in and out of pregnancy and you'll be looking so stylish either way!

Congrats on your pregnancy Sydney!

I'm curious, how tall are you? I'm 5'0. My issue with maxi dresses is that I feel I'm too short to wear it, unless I wear sky high heels. They feel frumpy on me but you look great in it.Maybe I should try empire waist or baby doll styles.

I'm beginning to love dresses more and more, and I'm not pregnant ;). Love items that can double duty for pregnancy and beyond! So when do you find out if it's a boy or girl???

not sure, but i'm noticing that you fill out that purple maxi better in the chest bc you're pregnant. is that true? either way, that's what i'd be wearing too.

i love that you pair it w/a jean jacket. that's all i ever wear it with too.

@Ngoc N Ngoc, I am 5'2. I had to shorten the length of the 1st dress.

@AUBS* Yes, they will increase in size during pregnancy at least 1-2 cup sizes. Not that I am complaining =)
