DIY: Gold tube necklace

I do love my statement jewelry but sometimes it’s nice just to wear simple, delicate pieces for a casual look (especially when it's so hot outside). I've been wanting a simple bar necklace for a while but couldn't settle on anything so I decided to make my own version instead.

Supplies:

- Curved Noodle Tube Beads 40mm x 2mm: I got these tubes from Amazon and am very happy with the purchase. They are made from 14K gold filled, come in a pack of 2, definitely have a good weight and feel to them.
- Fashion chain: You can use an old chain if you'd like. I got this chain from Michael's. Make sure your chain is small enough to feed through the tube.
- Jump rings and spring rings: I got these at Joann's but you can find them at any craft store.

How to do:
  • To make it easier - First, I use a piece of thread to loop through the first ring on the chain
  • Feed that thread through the tube and pull
  • Cut the chain to your desired length. My shorter one is 15 inches and my longer one is 17 inches. I like to layer my necklaces
  • Attach a jump ring and a spring ring to each end and you're done!

This necklace literally takes 5 minutes to make. I am not a crafty person at all but they turned out great. I plan to get a few more tubes and make myself some matching bracelets.

{Showing: My DIY version, Gorjana Small Bar Necklace (under $100), Jennifer Zeuner Choker Chain Necklace (expensive!)}

I hope you enjoy the tutorial - as always, feel free to leave me a comment if you have any questions.

They look so elegant! What are the spring rings for? I don't make jewelry, or sew, as you can tell ;)

@lisacng Spring rings are just another type of jewelry clasps (similar to lobster clasps)

How did you attach the things to the chain? The holes in the chain are so tiny x_x
