Chicago weekend getaway

I flew to Chicago last Thursday to spend the weekend with my significant other. He had to be there all week for business. I am incredibly grateful for having my parents around who are willing to take care of the kids anytime. I wish the weather was nicer. It was freezing cold and overcast for most of my trip. Although, I am not going to complain. Here is my weekend getaway in photos. We stayed at the Park Hyatt Chicago

1 & 2: My dinner outfit: ASOS Skater skirt | Express Portofino Blouse| Express 2-strap heeled sandals | Movado Serio
3: It was super nice to wake up to a gorgeous view of the city and the lake.
4. I live in the suburbs most of my life but I am a city girl at heart. I love high-rise buildings and the energy of the city. Wearing Forever21 peplum top (buy similar here) | Kate Spade Circe Sunglasses
5. Snapshots of what we ate over the weekend from Grand Lux Cafe, Cooper's HawkThe Original Pancake House and Slurping Turtle
6: Tried on a couple of purses per my girlfirend request - Prada Large Saffiano Lux Bugatti Tote, Chanel Maxi Double Flap in caviar (I snapped a pic of the current retail price just in case you're curious - It's $5300. Yikes!), Valentino Rockstud Strass Studded Slingback, Salvatore Ferragamo Vara flats (They're $257 at the SF outlet stores), Crewcuts printed skinny jeans in spearmint (I love them but my size wasn't available).

It was nice to do nothing but eat, shop and enjoy each other's company for a few days. This weekend was the first time in 7 months that I slept without the baby monitor next to my bed =). I hope you enjoy yours as well.

Nice! I live in Milwaukee and I try to stop by Slurping Turtle whenever my hubby and I go to Chicago. I love the tonkatsu ramen. Next time you should try Frontera Grill, a really awesome Mexican restaurant.

Love all your pics, Sydney! I've never been to Chicago but it's def on my list of places to visit one day. No trying their famous pizzas during your stay? ;) I don't blame you because everything else you ate looks delicious.

The black Rockstuds are a beauty. I'm thinking of getting them from NM because of the gift card event that's going on right now.

Any rumor to Chanel price increases any time soon? Or should I say, any truth to that because there are always rumors floating around, haha.

Lovely pics! Love your 1st outfit. Soft and feminine but a bit edgy!

I love Chicago. I was thinking the same question as Cee... how about pizza? I tried and loved it!

@Cee, @SS My husband is a pizza lover so we have pizzas more often than I'd like to admit . We were going to check out Giordano's but ran out of time. There is always next time – I guess =)

Hi sydney,
Your Chicago trip looked amazing! For those vara flats that you saw at the outlet store, are they the Varina flats or Vara pumps? And what a great price. Did you pick up a pair?

@Anonymous Hi there, they were the Varina flats. I wasn't in the market for one so I passed =)
