Decorating with me: The Foyer

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may have seen little peeks here and there of our new home. It’s in the final stage. The last few weeks have been filled with trying to make the right decisions on so many things. To say it's stressful is an understatement. I will do a separate post to talk more about our new place when it’s ready. In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to do a weekly post called “Decorating with me”. Basically, every week, I will show you guys one area of my home and you can give me some ideas for decorating that area. Home decorating is not my strong point so I hope to get some great input from you guys. This week’s spotlight is the foyer. We had a really small foyer in our previous house so I am very excited to decorate this area now (please excuse the unfinished floor). I absolutely adore the burgundy and beige combination. It gives the entryway a cozy feel. I wanted some sort of bench underneath the arch. Which one do you think we should get and why? For those who are interested, all color selections are from Sherwin Williams (wall color = 6066 Sand Trap & arch color = 7582 Salute)

I would go for number 1 if you want a minimalist look but want to add interest to the room, or for number 3 if you want to create a feature product in the room.

Love!!! I'd do #1 with some tall urns or interesting giant vase on one or both sides of the bench.

#1 has got great drama, but I personally prefer #5. It's still contemporary but has classic touches.

The house is looking so nice! I think I like number 2 best because of its clean lines and classic look. You also see more of the red wall with this type of bench (versus the ones that have a back). I also like number 3 if you want a statement piece for the foyer.

For me I would go for 1, it's simple yet elegant plus it'll accentuate the walls of your foyer.

Yay for new house! I looooove #2. When I saw the arch, I totally thought it needed a long bench with low profile.

#5 is my favorite for that space. I'd put a large piece of artwork or a mirror above it. The key thing will be the proportion of the bench underneath the arch... kind of like dressing us petites! :-)

Thank you so much for sharing your Room Décor. I can see from the first picture, the green color is being the best option. Although the green is not the main color, I still can see that it is becoming the great combination. Meanwhile, if I do not like to have bright color, I can choose calm color such as white. As I know that white color is great color, because it will suit with other color. Also for the furniture, I can use corner cabinet. But I have to make sure that the material is good.
