Closet Remix: 04.21.2011

Today, I am so excited to share with you guys some of my new purchases. If you follow me on Twitter, you'd know my husband and I went shopping for 9 hours past weekend. The outlet is 2 hours away from where I live so it took 4 hours just to drive back and forth. So technically, we only shopped for 5 hours :) LOL. It was a successful shopping trip. We came home with a bunch of stuff. Two of which that I am wearing in this post is the new lovely blouse from Ann Taylor Factory and my new nude pumps from Steve Madden.

The Ann Taylor Factory was having 40% off the entire purchase last weekend. I wanted to stop by and check out the lace dress/skirt. They sure look very lovely in person but the husband thinks it was a bit much for every day wear and I agreed. I was sad to leave the dress behind but happy to bring this ruffles blouse and a sheath dress home with me. This blouse is absolutely darling IRL. I am excited to have a new addition to my closet since I don’t have anything similar to this color previously.

Spring is here and a pair of nude pump is a must have. I’ve been looking for one for quite some time. I want something with a low heel, not too expensive, patent leather and the nude color has to be right. I finally found what I’ve been looking for. It’s been raining non-stop for the past few days. Today is the first time I brought her out for a spin. They are 2 ¾" and super comfy. I am not kidding. I feel like walking in flats.

What I am wearing:
Blouse: AT Factory Ruffles Blouse - size 00P (buy similar here- in taupe)
Skirt: H&M - size 2 (buy similar here - available in 00)
Shoes: Steve Madden Ulltra Blush Patent Leather (buy here or higher heel here)
Earrings: The Limited (buy here in silver)

You know sometimes you bought something then when home and unsure about your purchases? Not in this case, I absolutely adore this outfit. I am also wearing my beloved H&M skirt. I reach for this skirt every single week.

Your blouse is so pretty and feminine Sydney. Your shopping trip sounds fun but boy..4 hour drive!! You and your hubby are hardcore shoppers...I wouldn't have enough patience. Seems like it's worth the drive cuz you got some great stuff. Looking forward to seeing more goodies.

So glad you had a successful shopping trip, Syd!!! What's more, you found the perfect nude pumps! Congrats. Is there a Steve Madden outlet? I don't think we have it here. The shoes look lovely on you.

You look great, Sydney! I love the colour coordination here; any shade of blue with any shade of tan/brown is one of my favourites! Your hair is also pretty- did you just tease it or did you add something extra in there?

Just wanted to let you know that your Amrita Singh earrings were shipped this week so you should be getting them soon!! :) And in the meantime, I have another giveaway going on and would love if you entered.

Happy (almost) weekend!
Jen

I am officially in love with your outfit. I think the colour and cut of the blouse is gorgeous!! I can also see why you wear that brown skirt all the time. AND to top it all off, those shoes are perfect!

Love the ensemble! This shows how some items work much better on those with a taller build. The armholes of that shirt showed lots of "side boob" for me and was indecent, but it looks like a perfect fit on you. Are you wearing a strapless or racerback bra?

Great outfit, perfect for your flawless skin! I love the your lowheel nude pumps too!

@Vicky Hi Vicky, I found these pumps at Nordstrom. I don’t think there is a Steve Madden outlet, either.

@Jen Hi Jen, I use the Bumpits hair volumizing inserts. It gives me instant volume. Thank you for sending out the earrings. I can’t wait to wear them. I’ll definitely check out your giveaway.

@PetiteAsianGirl The armholes are still a bit big for me but doable. I usually wear strapless bras with halter tops. For some reasons, the straps for my racerback bra don’t stay in place very well.

ooooh does that mean you'll be showcasing your other buys in future posts? show us more! show us more!

Gosh, I love ruffles. Why? why? I own so many ruffly shirts, but yet, can't get enough. Great pick Syd!

Cute outfit. The color of the blouse is gorgeous! I'm so sick of this rain too. And the tornados! We lost our power for a half day bc of that storm.

I love this color pairing. Camel really is a great neutral. You look great, Sydney!

PS - I like your hair with the poof on top.
