Online Boutique: Maggie May Swimwear

I am back!!! Coming back to rainy Ohio is depressing but it's good to be home. I've missed you guys so much. I do have an exciting post to share with you today. Summer is quickly approaching and it’s time to shop for bikinis. Today, I want to share with you a fairly new swimwear brand called Maggie May Swimwear (MMS). MMS kindly asked me to pick out the color of a Brazilian swimsuit for this review.  I chose the yellow you see below. Finding a bikini that fits isn't an easy task. Over the years, I have become quite picky about the things I wear - especially when it comes to swimwear. This super sexy suit is a one-of-a-kind and isn't in production yet. It will be featured in their 2012 line at the Mercedes-Benz Swim Week this July.

The adjustable halter top is hand knitted in gorgeous yellow and features trim in yellow fringes. It ties around the neck and the back offering a customizable fit. I am wearing a size XS for both the top and the bottom. The bottom features a Brazilian cut which provides minimal coverage. I'll spare you the behind shot :). This adorable bottom is also hand knitted in the same color as the top.

Pros:
- The quality is exceptional. All swimsuits are knitted by hand, by the owner.
- Their styles are unique. There is a pretty good chance that you will not run into somebody on the beach who is wearing the same swimsuit as yours. Earlier this season, I bought a swimsuit from H&M and I ran into a girl on the beach that wore the exact same one.
- Sizes range from XS – L. However, all swimsuits can be customized to fit your measurements. All you have to do is pick out the color and the style that you like and provide your measurements.  Your custom swimsuit will be finished in 2-3 weeks.

Cons:
- Since everything is handmade, the cost for swimsuit is pretty expensive compared to a typical off the rack brand. Prices range from $225.00 - $300.00
- Most of their swimsuits have minimal padding. If you’re a petite like me and need some lifts, these suits might not be a good option for you. **Update** I just got an update from the owner, padding for the top is available by request!!

If you're looking for a high-quality swimsuit, I recommend checking out MaggieMaySwimwear.com. The customization definitely is a plus when it comes to finding the right swimsuits for petites. Many thanks to Maggie May Swimwear for giving me a chance to review their products.

Disclosure: I received this suit courtesy of MaggieMaySwimwear.com. As always, my reviews are my personal opinion. I will not be compensated for posting this review on my blog.

Have a great week,
-Sydney-

Looking good Sydney! I love the yellow on you - it looks really flattering against your skintone. I never quite understood why ppl say us Asians shouldn't wear yellow :P

I always thought petites don't look very good in swimsuits (or maybe it's just me, cause I always look like a little kid in swimsuit for some reason), but you look hot! I feel like you should enter a beauty pageant or something! Wowy!

Please tell me how you look that good after having a baby..for real...what did you do and how long did it take?

....Sorry Sidney, but I really don't think that you look good on this egg-yolk bikini. I did my research and here is what I have found out:
These unflattering bathing suits are in fact made in the midwest (Mildford, MI ), ccording to the designer herself. I also found some bad reviews about the quality, and the designs that are discouraging. The suits look like Caribbean carnival costumes, and also according to their own website www.maggiemayswimwear, you will never know what you will get, upon paying these ridiculous high priced swimsuits. Just read below below and judge it for yourself:
