We're expecting!

I can’t hide my tummy anymore so I guess, I'll spill the news =) We’re expecting! Yes, my husband and I are beyond thrilled to announce – we’re having another baby! I know I talked about having a second child a few times on Twitter but I still can’t believe it’s happening. Before getting pregnant, I thought this pregnancy might not be as excited as my first one. Wrong! Every experience of this pregnancy is just as good as the first one.

What I am wearing:
Jacket: H&M denim jacket - size 4
Necklace: c/o Kate and Soo's Etsy shop
Sandals: Steve Madden (buy similar)
Purse: J.Crew Tillary tote

Like everything else in life, there are good things and bad things:

The good:
- Since this pregnancy was planned, I knew I was pregnant before taking a test. However, I still sat in the bathroom at work and stared at the stick for a good 5 minutes. The look on my husband’s face was priceless when I broke the news to him
- Most women feel constantly tired in early pregnancy. I am very fortunate that this pregnancy has been pretty much a breeze for me. I occasionally feel tired but no morning sickness or nausea at all.
- I got lots of attention for being pregnant. Although, this can be overwhelming at times.
- I brought my daughter to my prenatal appointments. She couldn't wipe the smile off her face when seeing her little sibling on the monitor. Those moments are so precious!

The bad:
- I am an emotional person in general. My emotions during this pregnancy got the best of me. I immediately started crying when we disagreed on the tiniest thing and got upset over nothing. The worst part is over and I hope to keep my emotions "in check" from here on out =)
- We know I was a Starbucks addict. I had a rough time giving up Starbucks. It wasn't easy but I did it!

Of course, everyone has their own opinions about having kids. To me, I can’t imagine my life without children. I've seen many couples struggling with infertility, I am just blessed to have the little one is growing healthy in my tummy. The realization that there is a little miracle happening in my belly is still surreal to me even though I am almost done with my 2nd trimester =) Happy Mother's Day to all mothers and mothers-to-be. My whole weekend is planned with my little girl and my Mom.

Holy crap, Sydney - you look amazing for the end of the 2nd trimester. My belly was that size at about 10 weeks LOL. Until this post, I would have never have guessed you had any belly whatsoever. Hoping you have a happy and healthy pregnancy and I'm so excited and happy for you and your fam!!

Congrats! Glad to hear you and baby are healthy. I just found out that we're expecting (on mother's day, no less!) too and I'm looking forward to seeing some of your great pregnancy style ideas. I have no idea where to start as I wear such petite clothes now- I don't think I'll fit into anything I own in two months!

Hannah said...

Congratulations!! And I'm so excited to finally see a petite blogger pregnant! I'm 18 weeks along and have been looking high and low for maternity clothes that fit! So far I've decided my tailor will be my best friend as far as pants go. And wow you look great for being that far along! I think my bump (first-timer) is similar in size right now. I'd love to see more posts on petite pregnancy style! =) (And I totally need to get that skirt! I've been eyeing it but thought it might swallow me).
