Neutrals with a Pop of Color

My favorite thing to do right now is adding a pop of color to neutral pieces. It’s the easiest way to spice up an outfit. I picked up this vibrant wool skirt from J.Crew a few months ago but this is my first time wearing it. Even though it went through 2 rounds of alterations, I am still not happy with it. My tailor usually does a pretty good job of altering my clothes but for some reason, she couldn't get it right this time. On a happier note, say hi to the newest addition to my closet – the Tory Burch Robinson double zip tote. I've always admired Jean’s Prada tote but it was way out of my price range. I wanted to find some other affordable (but not necessarily cheap) alternatives. There were several options to consider but at the end, the Tory Burch was the winner. As much as I love my vintage Coach bag, I've decided to let it go since the size isn't working for me anymore. I can’t tell you enough how much I love my new tote. It is not only functional but stylish as well. If anyone is interested in a detailed review of this tote, just let me know.

Yay to a new bag! I also think it's great that you sold an old bag because it no longer works for your lifestyle... instead of hanging onto it for sentimental reasons.

I think you told me that you sold your J.Crew Tillary tote last year, right? How does the TB compare? For me, the Tillary tote was a lesson learned in that totes and I don't get along, especially ones without a long strap.

The color is so vibrant, Sydney! I seriously can't tell that it does not fit you well!
Also, I've been an avid admirer of the Prada tote for quite a long time now!The Tory Burch looks fabulous and so close to the Prada one but unfortunately it still is out of my range!:((
I'm sure you gonna use it a lot!!

BTW, I would love to see a review on the Tory Burch tote and consider putting a shopping ban on myself for at least a month to be able to purchase it!! :))

I think the fact that the weather is looking more like Spring really plays a role in mixing colors to your outfits, at least that's the case for me. I've seen so many great dupes of the Prada Saffiano Lux, it is such a great classic style that holds a lot. The Tory Burch one was a good call. :)

I love it when you go neutral with a pop of color! This gives me an idea how to style my own red skirt collecting dust in my closet :)

@Cee Hi Cee,

In my opinion, the TB tote is much more versatile than the J.Crew one. Because of the color we bought, the J.Crew tote seems only suitable for the July 4th weekend =) vs. the TB tote can be worn year-round. The TB tote also comes with a detachable strap for shoulder or cross-body wear. The strap is also adjustable to accommodate different heights. Overall, it’s a great everyday bag.

I love the bag and the outfit! Did you get the bag directly from TB's website? Did you use a cooupon code? I am thinking of getting the same bag for a while. A review would be great!
