Amrita Singh jewelry is on Hautelook today
Just a quick post today to let you guys know a great sale that I am eyeing. Hautelook is having a blowout on Amrita Singh jewelry today. I bought my first two pieces from her a few months ago and I love them. See the Hampton bracelet on me here. I love the look of bangles and bracelets but my wrists are tiny. Most bracelets are too big on me. This particular bracelet turns out to be a perfect fit. Her bracelets are do-able for petite wrists. I sure will check it out myself. Petite Fashion Challenge # 6: Dress up your basics
Petite Fashion Challenge # 6 is finally here. A big thanks to Jess of StylePint for hosting this month. I am so excited about this challenge since I am always having problems with casual styling. In this challenge:
Layer it: I love layering especially during winter. It’s hard to see but I am wearing 4 layers in this outfit. I started with a plain white tank top underneath, a white button-down shirt, a basic sweater and a blazer. The key is to start with pieces that are made from thinner materials first then layer them with heavier items to avoid the bulkiness.
Start off with a jeans and tee basic look (it can be any style or color) and dress it up to show off your personal style with accessories, jewelry, and whatever you’d like to add.T-shirt and jeans may be a boring combination but if you know how to dress them up, they may not be boring after all. Some of the keys on how to dress up a boring T-shirt and jeans:

Closet remix: 03.22.2011
This is another typical work outfit that I’ve put together. I bought this blouse from Ann Taylor Factory last year and totally forgot about it. This shell is very similar to the Ann Taylor silk shell with necktie that several petite bloggers have reviewed. I am trying out a new color combination. I thought this outfit is still somewhat neutral even though each piece has its own color. Please excuse my messy necktie. I had no idea how to tie it. Overall, I really like this outfit. This outfit represents what I would be wearing every day. I don’t mind wearing the same clothing over and over again if I wear it differently. I do like to change things up once in a while. I certainly do not have to wear new clothes all the time to make me feel good. If I find something that works for me, I tend to stick with it. Continue reading...

Review: My latest GAP purchase
I have been keeping an eye on the Gap legging jeans for a while. When I saw the medium faded wash was on sale for $24.99 last week, I couldn’t help myself. I ordered 2 of the exact same pair in a 00R – one for myself and the other for my sister. I also added the Gap floral pleated skirt as a filler for free shipping. I am going to start with the skirt first. Although I enjoy wearing my pencil skirt every day to work, I am on the hunt for something different. This skirt looks versatile on the model. I was sold by the black and white print. This is how it looks on me:
Looks pretty good right? Not really. This skirt is at least an inch bigger than my natural waist. I am wearing a size 00 in this post (buy it here). I like my pants and skirts to be anchored at my true waist. Continue reading...

Online Boutique: TheLittleShoeStore.com
Today, I am going to talk about shoes. They're not just shoes, they're vintage shoes. I was thrilled that TheLittleShoeStore.com (TLSS) has contacted me for a review of their vintage petite shoes. I never had any problems finding a pair of shoes that fit. However, I totally understand the frustration of women who have small feet. TLSS currently carries shoe sizes from 4 – 5 ½ in stock. Since my shoe size is out of this range, my sister will be modeling in this post. She typically wears a size 3 in girl’s shoes. Continue reading..

Getting my dream Chanel bag (Part I): How to convince your significant other
The name Chanel is associated with timeless sophistication. There is no doubt that they are beautiful and classic. It’s every girl’s dream to own a Chanel bag including mine. We all love it and want it. The only thing that keeping us from those beauties is the hefty price tag. For me, it’s not about having that kind of money to spend on something, it’s about where should I spend that money on. Having a family, I have no choice but prioritize things. There are things that I could spend the money on such as family vacation, home improvements. Spending money on a purse is the last thing on the list. The thought of getting myself a Chanel bag has died down until recently.
My little girl is going to first grade this school year. That means no more tuition for private school and a little extra room in my monthly shopping budget. The first step is trying to convince the husband that spending 2K on a handbag is OK (can’t believe I just said that). We stopped by a Tiffany store last night and he asked me what piece of jewelry I would like next. Perfect opportunity! I told him I don’t want any more jewelry. I am saving up for a Chanel. This is how our conversation went...
-----
Husband: “Chanel? is that a purse?
Me: Yes, it’s not just a purse. It’s a timeless and classic purse.
Husband: OK, why do you have to save up for it? How expensive is it?
Me: Well, it depends but I am thinking about spending 2K for it.
Husband: **Speechless for 5 seconds**. Why does it cost so much?
Me: Because they are made from only the best material such as lambskin.
Husband: Lambskin probably costs $30.00 in China
Me: **Ignored my answer**. It’s also a timeless piece that I know I am going to love and keep forever.
Husband: You said that with all of your purses.
Me: **Ignored again** – This conversation is going nowhere. It is also an investment piece since prices keep going up.
Husband: It’s not an investment piece if you can’t make any profit out of it.
Me: Several years from now, if I want to sell it, I bet you anything, I’ll get all my money back plus something extra.
Husband: But you said you’ll keep it forever.
Me: Oops! Well, I am just saying.
Husband: I just want you to understand that luxury items are NOT a status symbol.
Me: Of course =)
Husband: OK! You can get whatever you want. You deserve only the best. Just make sure you do your research. I always have a soft spot for you.
YESSSSSSSSSS!
The funny thing is that we had this whole conversation inside a Nordies. The SA probably wondered what in the world they were talking about.
Oh how I love you!

Closet Remix: 03.06.2011
I’ve been wearing neutral pieces most days this winter. I have to force myself a bit out of my comfort zone and buying more colorful pieces. I fall in love with this dress after seeing it on Annie of ReallyPetite. The blue color is just simple gorgeous! I love how the color really makes the detail on the dress pop. I was super excited to found a 00P at the outlet mall a few weeks ago. Of course, I had to bring it home with me. Continue reading...

Review: Ann Taylor Petites Spring Items
I wanted to do a quick post today since Ann Taylor is having a promotion right now. Get 25% off any 2 full-price items or 40% off any 3 full-price items with code "ANNSTYLE".
I felt in love with the Ann Taylor Silent Clusters Sheath Dress when I saw it in store last month. To my surprise, hubby brought it home for me on Valentine’s day. Originally, he got a size 0R and of course it was way too big on me. I reordered the dress in a 00P and was hoping for the best.
I have to tell you up front that I don’t love the dress. It’s a very pretty dress for sure but for some reasons, I just do not love it. Twitter friends already know this dress didn’t work out for me. I wasn't going to do a review but these items are online exclusive so I thought I would do a quick post just in case you’re interested. Continue reading..
