Review: Soia & Kyo Zip Collar Leather Jacket (Reg. & Petite)

As mentioned in my fall/winter 2013 wish list post, I am determined to add a leather jacket to my closet this year. I've been searching high and low, doing all kinds of research the past couple of months. At last, all my hard work has paid off (lol). I have found a leather jacket that I am completely in love with – Say hello to my newest love: The Soia & Kyo zip collar leather jacket. There were a few things I look out for when searching for a candidate:
• I was looking a non-black leather jacket. Black can be too harsh on a petite frame. I prefer gray or brown when it comes to leather jackets.
 • Of course, the most important thing was the fit. I wanted something that requires no alterations. Altering a leather jacket is just simply out of the question
• I was open to faux leather options as well since they can look just as real and stylish as the real version. In the end, I really wanted a real leather jacket.

Nothing was out of the ordinary but for some reason, it was impossible for me to find the right one for years. I had my heart set on the Michael Kors hooded quilted jacket. I asked my husband for his opinions and he wasn't a fan of the hood. I was OK with the hood but after some more digging around on the internet, I found the color on Macy’s site was not as pictured. The color was drab and not as vibrant in person. It was a deal breaker for me. The search continued until I stumped upon this Soia & Kyo jacket. If you’re not familiar with Soia & Kyo, it's a Canadian brand. Designer llan Elfassy was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He debuted his women’s outerwear collection in 2004.

What I am wearing:
Jacket: Soia & Kyo leather jacket - size XS regular

Fall Wish-list Item # 4: A classic camel coat

My search for a new winter coat continues after a failed attempt with the Zara coat. Although, my original plan was to search for a mustard yellow coat, I do think camel would be much more practical and wearable than mustard. Also, camel seems to be hugely ubiquitous this Fall. I wasn’t sure about this H&M coat at first but now, I am loving it more each day.

Review: Zara Double-breasted coat in XS

Several readers expressed their interest in seeing the Zara mustard coat that I’ve ordered last week. Let me first start off by saying that I really am impressed with their fast shipping. I placed an order on Wednesday and got it 3 days later on Saturday. The package came tightly wrapped in plastic.

Onto the review, this coat is from the Zara Woman line. According to their size chart, the Zara Women line tends to run larger than the TRF line. I haven’t purchased anything from Zara previously so I was hesitate to order this coat. Ping has left me a comment saying this particular coat runs small. I immediately placed an order as soon as I saw her comment.

Midnight madness experience & Bebe trench coat

I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving weekend and got a lot of goodies on Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Four day weekend flew by quickly. I am still playing catch up with my sleep and everything else. Like I mentioned in this post, we planned to join the midnight madness on Thanksgiving night. We sure did! After stuffing ourselves with turkey and crab legs, we headed out at 11:00 pm. The outlet is an hour and half away. It was snowing and raining that night too. We finally got there around 1:00AM and it was jam-packed like a Saturday afternoon. We got home around 6:00 in the morning and I was dead tired. My only intention for going to the outlet was to get my Colehaan boots I had on hold. I did bring those babies home but oh boy, it was quite an experience. I will have to show them off in another post.Would I do it again? Sure! Would I do it every year? I do not think so. I slept for 14 hours the next day. I must give credit to my husband for driving me and my siblings to the outlet (while everyone slept in the back seats), standing at the checkout lines while I shopped, going through racks to find my sizes and getting us home safe and sound. I know I am crazy but thank you for being crazy with me!
