My favorite ways to wear a scarf

I admit, I wasn’t a scarf fan before but now, I love them. Today, I decided to make a little video to show you guys 3 of my favorite ways to wear a scarf. There are certainly countless ways to wear them. Scarves not only keep you warm, but also make your plain and simple attire look more fashionable and put together. That’s the reason why I chose to wear a pair of denim with a plain tee. This is my first ever attempt at making a video, please bear with me. Also, please excuse my awkward moments =) It took me 3 hours to edit this 3-minute video. It’s not anything extraordinary but I hope you’ll enjoy it. Thank you, Happy Scarf for sending over these beautiful scarves.

Fall Wish-list Item # 6: A clutch/cross-body bag

These pictures were taken a while back for the IT girl feature but I haven’t had a chance to post them yet. This military pencil skirt was one of the items that I picked out for the feature. Unfortunately, the size 0 was too big for me.

Petite Fashion Challenge # 11: Vacation Vogue

I am personally excited for this month’s PFC. My family and I are going on vacation soon and this challenge couldn't have come at a better time. This month, Ski Petite asked us to:

Put together an outfit made for sightseeing. It should be one that will be comfortable for walking around in and can last you from the early morning until dinner and drinks in the evening. Plus, you're on vacation, so you'd better make sure you look good in photos, which you'll have for years to come. You can choose just one outfit but vary it by adding or taking off layers or accessories to take you from the a.m. to the p.m. and make one outfit easier to last through the day
…so for this challenge, I am making this simple pleated dress work for both day and night. The easiest way create a day-to-night look is by playing with your accessories

Weekend Fun: Circleville Pumpkin Show

This weekend, my family and I headed down to Circleville for the annual Pumpkin Show. The Circleville Pumpkin Show attracts over 400,000 visitors (100,000 per day) to this small community of 12,000 people. They come to see the giant pumpkins, the world's largest Pumpkin Pie, parades, entertainment, attractions, and try various pumpkin-flavored goodies. For us, it's becoming a tradition that we look forward to each year. Here are a few snapshots from the show:

{The biggest pumpkins of the show: 1st place: 1436 lbs, 2nd place: 1198 lbs}

My Fall/Winter wish-list

Although I enjoyed the warm weather in the Summer, Fall is still my absolute favorite season of the year. I enjoy my pumpkin spice latte on the way to work every morning, Fall activities with my family and of course I love Fall layering. It’s so easy to buy more clothes when I see amazing outfits put together by fashion/style bloggers. Thus, I feel it’s necessary to have list of things that I somewhat need and stick with it. Other than a few inexpensive items that I’ve bought here and there, I am staying true to my wish list. It is half way completed so I thought I'd share my Fall wish list with you guys

A few snapshots of Summer (clockwise): (1) & (3): Cruising and spending time at the lake, (2): Lots of ice cream from the ice cream truck (4): Summer vacation.

Classic with a pop of color

I am definitely a classic type of girl when it comes to fashion. Even though I love incorporating bold colors to my outfits lately, I still feel comfortable wearing my neutrals. For me, adding bold accessories is the best way to dress up my plain outfits. With that in mind, I picked out this Patty Shoulder Bag when Aftershock London reached out for a mention.

Fall Wish-list Item # 4: A classic camel coat

My search for a new winter coat continues after a failed attempt with the Zara coat. Although, my original plan was to search for a mustard yellow coat, I do think camel would be much more practical and wearable than mustard. Also, camel seems to be hugely ubiquitous this Fall. I wasn’t sure about this H&M coat at first but now, I am loving it more each day.

Colorblock dress

A few of you have expressed interest in the Geri blouse that I wore in this post so I want to give a shout out to my new favorite online boutique called Velvet. The store based in Indonesia. Their clothes are chic and very affordable. Is it just me or their collections remind me so much of Zara? Velvet wanted me to introduce their July/August collection to you guys a few months ago. Unfortunately, there were a few issues with shipping and the package didn’t make it to my door until 2 months later. The dress that I am wearing in this post is already sold out. However they just launched the September collection a couple of weeks ago, be sure to check it out.

Weekend Fun: A Day in the Country

The weather is insanely gorgeous this weekend. We decided to take a ride to see the leaves changing and spend a day in the country. Even though the leaves had barely started to change color, the view was still breathtakingly stunning. After snapping a few photos, we went to a cheese and wine tasting, spent some time at the flea market and had some delicious home-make food. It was such a lovely day to be able to breathe fresh air and enjoy a peaceful day in the country.

Columbus Day Sales!

Even though I live in Columbus, I won’t get a day off from work for Columbus Day. How unfair is that! However, you bet I will be happy to take advantage of Columbus Day sales this weekend!

Ann Taylor (take 40% off your entire purchase)
Several blogger have already posted this sale yesterday so I won't go over it again. I’ve been eyeing the Petite Vintage Trench for quite somet time now. Sadly, petite sizes are gone by the time the sale starts. I ended up ordering the Petite Boulevard Trench (online exclusive) and the Crew Neck Cardigan (to get free shipping). I was able to snatch both of them up for 40% off plus another 30% off (use code 51100001016). The code worked for me yesterday on my entire order. I am not sure if it still does. After both discounts, the price is truly unbeatable. Let’s hope the trench will work out.

Review: HANA Titanium 1.5 " Flat Iron

I’ve got a couple of questions from readers asking about how to style my hair. To be honest with you, I usually don't spend a whole lot of time on it. I lost quite a bit of hair after my daughter was born. Using a flat iron everyday to straight my hair doesn’t help either. I am really trying to stay away from heating tools but it’s tough. My hair is naturally wavy and I do not like it. I love straight and sleek hair. The only way to accomplish that is to use a flat iron. Because I straight my hair every day, it’s very crucial for me to invest in a good flat iron.

I was given the opportunity to try out the HANA Titanium 1.5 “ Flat Iron  sold by Misikko a few months ago. I really wanted to test it out for a longer period of time before writing a review. Before having this flat iron, I’ve been using the Her Styler hair straightener for almost 10 years. It was about time for me to get a new one.

- My iron was shipped the same day and arrived 2 days later. Everything was very well packaged. The flat iron came with a travel pouch, a heat pouch and a small bottle of Hana Shine Shield.
- The flat iron has several heat settings to choose from and heats up much faster than my old one. It is ready to go in about 30 seconds. It saves me a lot of time getting ready in the morning. It is extremely light weight and easy to use.
- I can curl my hair, flip my hair or just go totally straight using this flat iron. I don’t really have any concerns about this product.
- If I have to criticize, it would be the long cord. The cord get twisted easily for some reasons.

{Various hair styles created with the HANA Titanium 1.5 “ Flat Iron}

The retail price for this flat iron is a bit steep at $179.99. However, it is still in the price range compare to some of the other professional flat irons on the market today. Overall, I am quite happy with this product and would recommend it to someone who is looking into purchase a professional flat iron.

Disclaimer: The flat iron was provided to me free of charge. As always, my reviews are my personal opinion. I will not be compensated for posting this review on my blog.

Weekend Fun: Anniversary Dinner

One of the most important things my husband told me when we were dating that I've always held onto was " We're not perfect but we're perfect for each other. Nothing will break us as long as we always try for one another". So throughout the good times and bad we've always stuck together and laughed/cried our way through it.

To celebrate our anniversay, we went to one of my favorite restaurants called The Elevator Brewery. Every time we go there, I always order their signature dish called "The Rock Filet". It is basically a steak on a stone concept. It is served on a stone heated to 500 degrees. The idea is that you are able to slice the steak off then cook it to your desired doneness. Nice and sizzling right there in front of you! We had a wonderful relaxing evening with great conversation and great food. What did you do this weekend =)?
