Reader corner: How did i start blogging?

I recently got an email from a sweet reader:
Hi, I love your blog and follow it DAILY... I've always wanted to start a blog of my own..but I am way too chicken to start (I'm at not computer savvy at all). I was wondering how you got started and do you have any tips for me, or are there any helpful tools you used when you started. Thanks so much!
How did I start blogging?
I am sure my story is quite similar to some of the others. It all started with one Google search for “petite fashion”. The search has brought me to ExtraPetite's then AlterationsNeeded's. Next thing I know, there is a whole petite community online. These blogs provide me with an overwhelming useful amount of information. The petite blogger community has grown tremendously for the past several months. It took me probably about a month to finally decided to start my own blog and the rest is history. I enjoy blogging as much as interacting with other petite ladies on a regular basis. Continue reading..

Before deciding whether you should start your own blog or not, let’s me point out some of the advantages as well as the disadvantages of blogging. I assumed you’re interested in a fashion blog?

Fitting Room Review: H&M new arrivals

I popped in H&M a couple of days ago to check out some of their new arrivals for Spring. Coral, orange and peach are definitely the top colors for Spring 2011. I ended up didn’t get anything but here are a few items that I brought with me to the fitting room if you’re interested.

HM_Jacket2

Liane of PetiteXXS first tweeted about this jacket. The material is quite similar to the one from the last season (Jean reviewed the jacket here). I missed out on the last one so I was excited to see this jacket in person. It’s a super cute jacket. The fit is incredibly small. I was having a hard time button up a size 2. I have nothing bad to say about this jacket. I didn’t get it (for now) because I really don’t need another jacket. It is available in 4 colors: black, heather gray, navy blue and peachy. Click here for the tag info if you need it. Thanks DoubleZeroP! I am wearing a size 2 in the blue one and a size 4 in the other color. The material is really soft and comfy to wear. It’s just simply adorable. I know this jacket will get some loves from the petite community. Retail price: $34.50. Continue reading...

Petite Fashion Challenge # 5

Petite Fashion Challenge # 5 is finally here. A special thank to Cynthia of Shorty Stories for hosting this challenge. For the first time, I was done with my post way ahead of the schedule..woot woot! I didn’t have any problems completing this challenge. In general, I don’t wear a lot of black and I don't have a lot of black clothing in my wardrobe. Although, black is a very attractive color when wore in style, it also has the effect of making a person look slimmer and thinner. That's what I try to avoid. I have a lot of solid color pieces, mainly in different shades of gray. Continue reading...

Review: Laneige skincare

I don’t have a major acne problem but my skin is still far from perfect. I've been looking for skin care products that would improve, lighten and even out my skin tone for a while. I am overwhelmed with all the skin care products out there and do not know where to start. I turned to some of my favorite beauty bloggers for their experiences.  After doing a bit of research, I decided to try the Laneige skin care products.  I started with two products: the Laneige skin refiner and the Laneige night cream. They are the basic of any skin care routine.  I have always had very dry skin (so dry it flakes), especially in the winter. Therefore, moisturizers are essential for me. Let's start with the Laneige white plus renew skin refiner: Continue reading...

Skin refiner is another term for skin toner. This product also has moisturizers to hydrate the skin. According to product’s description "skin whitening toner that refines and clarifies your skin surface. The product contains papaya extracts and water lily extracts that remove old dead skin cells and impurities on skin surface.”

Closet remix - 01.03.2011

The holidays are over and it's time to kick start my New Year's resolutions. It was hard to get up this morning and get ready for work. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to save more money and less shopping. With that said, I am starting a new category for my blog called “closet remix”. The advantage of being a wardrobe remixer is that it will keep me creative in my clothing choices. It will also help me to rediscover items that are sitting in my closet with the price tags still on . I am going to dedicate myself to remixing my wardrobe and creating new looks based on what I already have. Today’s outfit consists of some old items (tee and cardigan) mixing with my new Bebe skirt. I couldn't find the skirt online but the model worn it here with the matching jacket. I absolutely love the magenta color. Although I don’t think the tee and cardigan are the perfect match but Monday mornings are the times when I want to get dressed in a rush and run out of the door. I am not going to make it official but please feel free to join me in this challenge if you’d like. Have a great week, everyone!
